TrueAchievements Reaches Over 1 Billion Tracked Achievements

032575

Our congratulations go out to the fine folks at TrueAchievements, who have just reached the impressive milestone of 1 billion tracked achievements across all TA users! I wonder what the gamerscore would be for that particular achievement.

Website creator/mastermind Rich Stone took this opportunity to crunch the numbers and break down the habits of the habitual achievement hunters in the 9 years that TrueAchievements has been running, with some interesting statistics emerging.

Most notable is the fact that the overall rate of achievement unlocking is down 20% in 2016 from the previous year. TrueAchievements plan on posting a future article detailing why they think that could be the case, though they speculate that people are preferring to sink hours into one particular game, like Destiny, The Division or Overwatch. Personally, I’m blaming Netflix/YouTube.

If you want to check out the full list of stats for yourself, they’re right here. Be sure to leave your messages of congratulations for the TrueAchievements team in the comments below!
