Super Mutant Alien Assault Launches on Xbox One This Summer

MutantAssault03

Super Mutant Alien Assault, will be launching an all-out assault on Xbox One this summer, as Cybernate’s gloriously sadistic platformer release their first for the upcoming game.

With its single-screen stylings and intense difficulty, the game’s influences are clear – classic arcade games. And in both appearance and gameplay, it looks like Super Mutant Alien Assault is hitting precisely the right notes.

One of the game’s highlights are the randomly generated maps, objectives and opponents, seemingly designed just to spite you and stop you from ever memorising the layout of any of the 12 levels. You’ll have to become a master the old-fashioned way: skill, grit and luck.

According to the developers, the game features…

a near bottomless pit of unlockable weapons, explosives, sidearms, special abilities, perks and defense moves, each single-screen level is a randomised combination of layout, vending machines, enemies and objectives.

That randomised style of play gives SMAA a whole lot of replayability, with an absolute wealth of insane weapons and abilities just waiting to be experienced. There’s also a bangin’ dub-step soundtrack. You know, if that’s your sort of thing. Chuck in the even more difficult, fast-paced and chaotic two-player local co-op, and it’s a game that’s going to be completely unforgiving – in an awesome way.

Good luck!

Super Mutant Alien Assault is released Summer 2016.
