Playdead Is Teasing A Spiritual Successor To Limbo and Inside

Playdead Teaser FI

If you’ve been here any length of time you might pick up on the fact that there’s an argument to be made that INSIDE is the greatest video game ever created , anywhere, in all galaxies and universes.

Playdead’s masterpiece, building on the success of LIMBO and then overshadowing it in every way possible, is one of the most compelling, artistic, mesmerising experiences around. It was our indie game of 2016 and is still the only game ever to score 10 out of 10 in an Xbox One UK review.

So, we were understandably all of a Squee! when Playdead tweeted out a single image along side the words “Playdead founder Arnt Jensen and the team have been working on the next adventure.”

Ands that’s it. Not a whole lot to go on. We’ve got what appears to be a helmeted figure dragging a shredded parachute up the side of a rocky, snowy ridge. The tone is muted and dark – pure Playdead – and the only visible light source seems to be something (a spaceship?) burning up on re-entry, or crashing towards the ground in flames.
