All Eyes on Germany This August

With E3 in the bag and out of the way, the next stop in the Xbox One Xpress (geddit?) is Germany for Gamescom 2017 in August. Hoping to build upon the momentum created at E3, Microsoft have announced their schedule for the European conference.

The Xbox team are bringing 27 playable games to the show floor of the Cologne based event, including Forza Motorsport 7 and the much anticipated Sea of Thieves, but the fun doesn’t stop. At 9pm CEST (7pm GMT/12pm PDT) on Sunday 20th August, we shall be treated to a special Xbox @ Gamescom live show.

Hosted by Xbox regular Graham Boyd AKA AceyBongos alongside Xbox Germany’s Maxi Graeff, the special show promises sit down interviews, news, new gameplay for various games, Mixer giveaways and maybe even a surprise or two. Crackdown 3 Multiplayer trailer, perhaps? We won’t have to wait long to find out!

Microsoft will also be hosting a commemorative livestream for Age of Empires on Monday 21st August at 9pm CEST, which will celebrate the history of the franchise and show off some footage of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition. Any fortunate to have boots on the ground at Cologne can also look forward to an Xbox booth and the returning Xbox FanFest, with more details about those forthcoming.

Are you heading out to Gamescom? What are you looking forward to? Sound off in the comments!
