DOOM sound track to get live performance

DOOM Live

Bleep. Bop. Boop. Remember when video games sounded like that? Well, no more. Chiptunes dominated the mid eighties – stunning creations from only two or three channels of sound. And now, Tommy Tallarico travels the globe with an incredibly successful live show featuring classic and modern video game soundtracks performed by full orchestras.

DOOM is one of the best shooters of the year – fast, frantic and frenetic, it’s been rightly lauded. But you might have missed – in the cacophony of gunfire and explosions – that it has a stunning soundtrack.

That soundtrack might me about to pick up the recognition it deserves, thanks to this year’s Game Awards where a full orchestra – led by composer Mick Gordon – will enthral the audience with a live rendition.

The Game Awards take place this Thursday – 1 December – and you can watch them live over at thegameawards.com.
