Check Out Battlefield 1’s Brutal Single-Player Campaign
Battlefield 1 drops in less than three weeks, and to celebrate the imminent release, gamers have been given a sneak peek of the new single-player campaign.
You can check it out right here:
There were fears that Battlefield 1 was stepping into a literal minefield with its decision to set the latest game during the First World War. With that in mind, EA and DICE have been keen to highlight the harsh realities of WWI in a series not known for underplaying the glories of war.
Solo mode takes an almost COD-meets-GTA approach, allowing you to play as a variety of soldiers, and you can switch to various characters mid-game to better get a feel for the story unfolding.
That lends itself well to a campaign that game designer Daniel Berlin has described as more open, both in terms of the environment and the way in which you’ll be able to approach combat. Speaking to Gamespot, Berlin acknowledged that Battlefield 1 will have ‘much more choice and variety than before’, as the different characters are ‘dealing with the changing world in their own ways.’
If you’re an EA Access subscriber, you’ll be able to play for 10 hours from 13th October. For everyone else, Battlefield 1 launches on 21st October.
