When a good book is written, it tends to eventually be adapted in all forms of media, but rarely video games. Developers Daedelic Entertainment have taken the plunge in adapting Ken Follett's classic book: The Pillars of the Earth, and created an interactive novel/ point and click adventure; a genre that the developers are renowned for, but how well has it been adapted? The original book has 21 chapters, so if you're going to adapt a book - and want to get it right, you're going to want to include all the chapters. The developers did just this and took ... Today, Wizard Fu has announced that Songbringer will be released on Xbox One on 1st September 2017. The game (described as a "procedural action RPG") was funded on Kickstarter back in May 2015, with a beta version made available on Steam back in February 2016. It carries a pretty clear Zelda inspiration with it and features a procedurally generated world - players enter a number at the beginning of the game which will generate a world that is unique to that number, meaning that you can provide the number to a friend so that they can have the same experience ... Today, Bandai Namco has teased its latest game - Projekt #1514 with a short, 30 second trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZY4_pM7N4o The game is being developed by Japanese dev team Dimps - best known recently for Street Fighter V and several Dragon Ball Xenoverse games. The trailer shows what appear to be post-apocalyptic buildings with gunshots audible in the background - it certainly looks a long way removed from the studio's most recent output. Details are thin on the ground for the moment with no-one knowing for certain even what kind of game it will turn out to be. It looks interesting though - ... Read More »
According to an article published by Kotaku this morning, the answer appears to be... quite possibly. Okami is a PS2-era classic that was remastered into full HD for a PS3 release in Japan all the way back in 2012. That version of the game was only ever made available as a digital download - but all evidence is pointing to the next release of the game being physical, across multiple platforms, and coming soon (by games industry standards, at any rate). Long before that though, it was a cult classic due in no small part to its outstanding cel shaded, ... Read More »

Before you ask, no, Mr. Shifty isn't about that guy lurking around the corner of a secluded street nor is it a nickname given to a secondary school teacher. It's in fact the title of the character you play, who so happens to have forgotten how to use his legs at all and decides to teleport everywhere. And I mean everywhere...which in theory, isn't necessarily a bad idea for a title such as this. But is it worthwhile? Granted, some of us are hoping for some form of solo Nightcrawler game - he is quite an underrated superhero with amazing ... Read More »
