We’re just a few days away from the launch of Warzone Firefight, the return of the famous mode to Halo in the latest – and largest – free update for Halo 5: Guardians. Warzone Firefight launches on 29 June – and is heralded by the chance to play Halo 5 free for a week – and is the subject of this week’s Halo Community update. We’ll let 343 Industries set the scene. “If you’re not familiar with Warzone Firefight (What’s wrong with you? 😊), it’s our brand-new 8-player Co-op mode where you and your Spartan squad must overcome 5 rounds … Read More »

Warzone Firefight is the eighth free update for Halo 5: Guardians, and sees the return of the legendary co-op Player Versus Enemies game style that debuted with Halo ODST, and spawned many a Horde Mode in its wake. Warzone Firefight represents the biggest release of new content since Halo 5: Guardians launched towards the end of 2015 and, if April’s beta for the new mode is anything to go by, Firefight will be bigger and better than ever before. This latest release is so much more than just one new mode, though. As we covered last weekend, Warzone Firefight will … Read More »

Warzone Firefight is the next – and much anticipated – update for Halo 5: Guardians, bringing back the much-loved co-operative mode that debuted in Halo: ODST. Although still a few weeks away, April’s Beta showed the mode was in good shape and will likely be a fantastic addition to one of Xbox One’s best multiplayer titles. The update will bring the Firefight mode, some improvements and additions to Forge, a refresh of the main Warzone mode that we covered a couple of weeks ago, and a handful of new maps. In fact, this week’s Community Update from 343 Industries explains that a … Read More »

Firefight is the legendary Halo co-op mode that pits a band of Spartans against waves of increasingly tough enemies. What began life as a small mode in Halo: ODST soon spawned a thousand imitators, practically inventing the horde mode found in many a shooter since. Firefight was sadly missing from Halo 5: Guardians at launch. The good news, however, is that it’s coming to the latest Halo instalment. The better news is that it’s available in Beta form right now. It’s time to call in the big guns, Spartans. The Warzone Firefight Beta is now live! Jump into Halo 5 to play! pic.twitter.com/UYya8LO7WX … Read More »

Saturday is Halo day, and after the excitement of last weekend’s Halo World Championship Finals (I’m fairly certain our new eSports team will take the final next year, y’all) things settle down into a normal kind of weekend. World Championship. Some people cannot believe that such a title could be applied to a video game and mean something – even some who consider video games their hobby of choice are surprised. Let’s throw a number out there, then, in the hope that we can make this more relatable. $2,500,000. Two. Point. Five. Million. Dollars. £1,737,861 British Pounds (and 4 pence). That is the total prize fund for next week’s Halo World Championship.
