You could tell me that Vermintide started life as a Left 4 Dead mod; I’d believe you. 4 survivors of an apocalypse fighting a horde-like enemy called the Skaven (zombies), dogged at every turn by unique monsters designed to pick you off one by one. You’ve got your Gutter Runner (hunter), Pack Master (smoker/jockey), Poison Wind Globadier (spitter/boomer), Stormvermin (armoured horde) and the Rat Ogre (tank). We’re a charger and a witch away from a full set. Warhammer: The End Times – Vermintide, to give it its full title, is a first person co-operative action game with an emphasis on … Read More »

It’s Monday morning, it’s the first Monday in October and you have chosen to stop by here – for that I am eternally grateful to each and every single one of you. I have to say we have been rather spoilt lately with all these AAA titles and Indie gems that have been released as of late, long may it continue if I’m honest. Fancy checking out this weeks lineup of titles to see if this trend continues, I thought you might. Time to arm yourself with a coffee and a comfy seat, the hype train is ready to go-go-go. … Read More »

Vermintide, or to give this battler its full title Warhammer – The End Times: Vermintide, lets you team up with three friends and work together to thin out Skaven forces and drive them out of the city. You will assume the role of one of five heroes, and hack, slash, smash, burn and pierce the vile ratmen using a multitude of weapons. Set in the Warhammer realm, this first person hack n’ slasher promises to be bloody, brutal and – if the brand new trailer is anything to go by – tons of fun. The game offers drop-in drop-out co-operative multiplayer for up to four … Read More »

Warhammer Vermintide has been a bit of a hit on Steam since it originally released in October of 2015. Scoring top marks across many different opinion aficionado’s, I’ve also had a bit of playtime on the PC version after my first attraction to it at the EGX Rezzed event back in April (and tried to get information on the upcoming console version!). In its’ simplest terms, it’s Left 4 Dead in the Warhammer universe; with an RPG element of gear and varying difficulties, with a few different classes to play to boot. A more formal description though: Vermintide is a four … Read More »

The (End) Time(s) is near for Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide to move over to consoles – yeah, that pun was a little tougher to pull off than I thought. But with over half a million copies sold on the PC platform alone, you may be wondering why game developer Fatshark hasn’t jumped over to the platform already, especially since it’s been out for 6 months now. But there are good reasons for the delay. Firstly, Fatshark is a small developer based in Sweden (not that the country has anything to do with it!) and so creating the game everyone who … Read More »

If Blood Bowl passed you by, you are not alone. The first I heard about this series was the opportunity to review this instalment. I do have a friend who is quite the fan though, and from what I pieced together from his drooling over the game and the website blurb, is as follows: Blood Bowl and now Blood Bowl 2 are adaptations of the table top Games Workshop version by the same name. You’ll know Games Workshop as the company behind Warhammer. Paint ’em, play with ’em, lose your teen hours and money to them. Well, Blood Bowl has … Read More »
