Since the tease by Rockstar on Twitter yesterday, another source has come under fire from Reddit users to quash their rumour that showed a URL link in HTML code. Apparantly, the user in question just ‘inspected’ an element from a webpage and altered it to show Red Dead Retribution and has absolutely nothing to do with Rockstar. Only time will confirm, as an official announcement draws closer Do you think Retribution will be the final name or will it be something completely different? Judging by previous iterations, they’ve began with the letter ‘R’, so Retribution may not be that far … Read More »

Rockstar continues to melt gamers’ minds with a second tease about their next title. And you thought yesterday’s Twitter announcement would be the last we heard of Rockstar’s next release for a while? Think again. The studio today posted a new teaser image on Facebook and Twitter, this time featuring the silhouettes of seven gunslingers against a rising sun. You’ll also spot familiar rocky terrain of the Rio Bravo behind them. pic.twitter.com/iuwxwyL2cX — Rockstar Games (@RockstarGames) October 17, 2016 And here’s the image enlarged… Red Dead Magnificent Seven, anyone? This has left gamers wondering what sort of epic Western yarn … Read More »

It seemed inevitable that Gears of War 4 would feature cross-play across all game modes – a fact that was confirmed by Microsoft during their E3 2016 press conference. Only, it turns out that’s not entirely true. With the arrival of the first Play Anywhere title to feature competitive multiplayer, gamers were gearing up to play with and against others on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. After all, cross-platform play is one of the most requested additions in console gaming, with everyone from Rocket League to Final Fantasy getting in on the action. So on the one hand, … Read More »

Expect changes to the credits system in Gears of War 4 very soon. That’s the buzz from the Coalition’s director of community Adam Fletcher. In response to a fan’s tweet, Fletcher confirmed that gamers aren’t able to scrap duplicate legendary cards in order unlock new characters since that’s open to abuse. But he also told fans to expect imminent credit changes… @bushmaster2000 can't for preorder bonuses so there isn't abuse. But others yes. Also credit changes coming today/tomorrow. — Adam Fletcher (@PezRadar) October 10, 2016 Fans are hoping for a drastic overhaul to the credits system, which rewards players for … Read More »

Resident Evil 4 is like the Citizen Kane of games – it’ll always be near the top of those ‘Best Games Ever’ lists. We last played it on the GameCube 11 years ago, but after all this time, does the game deserve the praise it gets? So some backstory, for those not in the know. You play as Leon S. Kennedy – rookie cop star of Resident Evil 2, who not only survived Raccoon City’s zombie outbreak, but is also tragically afflicted with a centre parting and a bad case of the too-cool-for-school attitude that define Japanese gaming heroes. You … Read More »

Aaron Linde, lead writer of Battleborn, leaves Gearbox Software. Thankfully all seems like its just another chapter in this writer’s life as he moves onto other pastures. He tweeted “Tomorrow’s my last day at Gearbox,” he wrote. “Absolutely love this team and am incredibly proud of the work we did together.” Linde first signed on as a writer at Gearbox in October 2013. Linde has had a fruitful career so far, prior to working at Gearbox Software, he worked in narrative design at studios like Monolith Productions and Microsoft Game Studios, where he wrote content for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and … Read More »

Possibly one of the most talked about games of 2015 was Fallout 4. Not only did it win the Best In Show Award at E3 2015 but many others named it game of the year. With its first upcoming DLC pack, named Automatron, to be released in the next few weeks there is another side to the expanding and customisation of such an open world game – Modding. “Hold on one cotton-picking second, isn’t modding just for PC?” we hear you say. Although modding has been an important part of PC gaming for decades now, modding has not made much of … Read More »

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare was one the great sleeper hits of 2014, and, personally, I’m super happy to see a sequel on the way. A few days ago, a new trailer dropped for the imaginatively titled sequel, PvZ: Garden Warfare 2, showing off the new Solo Ops Mode, which allows you to play the Garden Ops Mode from the first game with up to three A.I. partners you can hotswap between. An interesting fact to note about the trailer is it shows a difference in character levelling compared to the last game. Instead of completing challenges to level-up, you … Read More »
