There's something demonically old-school hidden in the beautiful open world island on which Jonathan Blow's The Witness is set. Despite the first person perspective, the lushly rendered island, the enticing soundtrack and all the current gen trappings on show, this is one puzzle game that will have you scrawling notes, drawing maps, and whipping out your phone to grab a screen shot as a visual reminder.
