Even though the rerelease of Skyrim isn’t until 28 October, Bethesda is already accepting mods for the upcoming hit.  They are also taking way more mods on Xbox One than they are on PS4. Currently there are at least 65 mods available for Xbox One on Bethesda.net listings however only 10 on PS4.  All of the PS4 mods are also on Xbox One. Phil Spencer has opened up about Xbox One’s performance in Japan, in an interview with Famitsu magazine. It’s no secret that the Xbox One has performed abysmally in Japan – the launch was pretty embarrassing, with interest levels low and just a handful of consoles sold. For a third straight month, Microsoft has beaten Sony in console sales for September according The NPD Group.  This is an important win since both manufacturers have come out with new slim down hardware.  The Xbox One S has received a ton of praise and has really surpassed the sales of of the PS4 Slim.  It will be interesting to see how the upcoming holiday sales will be for these systems and Sony has VR hardware and the Pro coming out. Activision confirms what we’ve all been waiting for – the full details of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta. Last week we speculated that Microsoft had accidentally let slip that the COD beta would hit Xbox on the 21st October. Turns out they were bang on, slating the launch for a week after it hit the PlayStation. IW‘s multiplayer beta arrives on Xbox One at 5pm on 21st October, and runs until 24th October. Cross-platform play is one of those holy grails in gaming – we’ve seen it before, rarely, but that’s mostly been limited to consoles and PC. Earlier in the year Microsoft dropped the bombshell of cross-platform play and even put forward the concept of gamers from Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network playing together.
