With recent news that you can drive a UNSC Warthog in Forza Horizon 3, we look back on some of our favourite - and most surprising - gaming crossovers. When we sat down to make our list, we realised there were more examples than we realised - everyone has a favourite franchise or genre and could think of half a dozen examples. And not just games invading other games. We all know what happens when games invade movies (the less said about Pixels, the better) but sometimes when it goes the other way, it can be brilliant. We've whittled our list ... Read More »
Bethesda Softworks, to give them their proper name, has some pretty iconic intellectual property at their disposal. Wouldn't it be nice if we could somehow experience some of that in a new way? Well, we can, thanks to Bethesda Pinball, a collaboration between the publishing giant and Zen Studios, developer of Pinball FX2. On paper, bringing DOOM, Fallout and Skyrim to the pinball table is a masterstroke - it's hard to think of three more visually distinct and arresting games of the last few years, and Zen Studios has a remarkable track record in delivering fun, playable and astonishingly good looking ... Most were taken care of with Patch 1.1 however game crashes had survived the patch as well as a few other minor gameplay issues such as water not rendering properly. These surviving bugs have of course created a plethora of problems for gamers plundering through Tamriel. One such problem is after a long night of praising Hircine, not saving along the way, you revert back to your natural form ready to finally save ... Read More »
Anyone else remember playing the original Batman Arkham series on last-gen consoles? Remember its awful, blocky 8-bit graphics? And didn’t you have to squint to work out that purple and green blob was supposed to be The Joker? What a mess of a game. At least, we assume that’s what it must’ve been like – what other reason could there be for remastering one of the best gaming experiences out there? We’ll be upfront here, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were both 10/10 games. We struggle, even now, having just replayed them, deciding on which is better (Definitely Asylum… No, ... Read More »
Even though the rerelease of Skyrim isn't until 28 October, Bethesda is already accepting mods for the upcoming hit.  They are also taking way more mods on Xbox One than they are on PS4. Currently there are at least 65 mods available for Xbox One on Bethesda.net listings however only 10 on PS4.  All of the PS4 mods are also on Xbox One. One of the biggest reasons for the discrepancy is due to Sony limiting modders to only tweaking current features.  Microsoft is allowing for on changes to mechanics.  With this freedom, Xbox modders will have a total of ...
