Maurits Cornelis Escher was a Dutch artist, born in 1898, who through various mediums created, amongst other things, mesmerising images of the impossible. A waterfall that’s its own source; stairs which lead nowhere and everywhere; straight ladders that curve; all achieved through mastery of geometry and perspective.
