Titanfall 2 has had a rough few weeks it seems. Despite critical acclaim, the game has been in the news for its poor sales. However Respawn Entertainment appear to be quite upbeat on their recent Blog and also revealed that the first free DLC, called Angel City’s Most Wanted, will drop on November 30th for those that pre-ordered although the rest of us will have to wait until December 3rd to play on the new map. I’ve been fortunate to work on some great games and be a part of some amazing communities during my career but I’ve never seen or … Read More »

Respawn Entertainments follow up to the successful Titanfall released today, October 28th. One of the criticisms of the original though was the lack of content and in particular the lack of an offline solo experience. Some felt that this also impacted on the multi-player as the combat lacked context – a reason why these two sides were fighting, where the Pilots and Titans originate from etc especially as the game alluded to a rich back story. Whilst the original game built its story of sorts from its Multi-player, Respawn Entertainment have opted for a more traditional single player campaign this … Read More »

Respawn Entertainment’s second instalment of the popular mech first person shooter was one of the biggest and most popular stands in the whole building. After the first Titanfall, Respawn learned from what the fans wanted, a single player campaign, they listened. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see it during the demo. The plot focuses on Frontier Militia rifleman Jack Cooper, who aspires to be a Titan pilot. Stranded behind IMC lines, the protagonist must team up with a veteran Vanguard-class Titan named BT-7274, working together against overwhelming odds to uphold a mission he was never meant to carry out. The … Read More »

For many fans of the original Titanfall the main mode of the game was the all out warfare that was Attrition. It is understandable then that many fans were concerned when the Titanfall BETA tests were conducted last month and they featured a serious lack of the afore mentioned mode. The BETA tests featured game modes Bounty Hunt, Pilots vs Pilots and Amped Hardpoint. Obviously with Attrition being such a huge part of the original Titanfall’s success it stands to reason that Chief Operating Officer of Respawn, Dusty Welch, has been asked about it’s return numerous times since the conclusion of the … Read More »

It appears that Respawn Entertainment is being very proactive in patching and creating the best experience possible for Titanfall 2.  On the Titanfall official forum, Respawn has posted some patch notes for this weekend’s Tech Test.  The full details are listed below: TIME TO KILL Amped Weapons Boost now unlocks at 80% of the earn meter instead of 50%. Charge Rifles now have damage falloff at cross map distances. Slightly increased cloak visibility for other Pilots. We think the abundance of Amped Weapons is a large contributor to lower time to kill. We’re still adjusting individual weapon balance for ship. … Read More »

So it appears Respawn Entertainment is doing everything to keep Titanfall 2 running on current generation consoles they can to keep gameplay as fast and smooth as possible.  The tech test from the previous weekend allowed us to see the game running at it’s native resolution, which appears to be 720p on Xbox One.  This is actually a slight downgrade from the original Titanfall as it ran at 792p.  Does this mean Respawn Entertainment downgraded the quality for Titanfall 2?  Not at all! Titanfall was at the launch of the Xbox One and was limited to only a resolution without … Read More »
