Remember back in 2015 when Capcom announced that there will be a current gen remake of Resident Evil 2?  Well, we are about to hit 2017 and Resident Evil 7 is set to release next month and we know nothing new about the classic remake.  Capcom and RE2: Remake’s producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi may have tipped his hand a bit on when we will see something of the upcoming remake. In an interview with VideoGamer, Hirabayashi spoke about the experiences he learned from the previous games and how Capcom is focused on RE7 while his team is working on the remake of RE2. … Read More »

Fresh off the back of the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the Japanese publisher has confirmed that this is just the beginning. It’s been five years since the last MvC game – and, we presume, it won’t be the last (superheroes are totes hot right now), but in a press release announcing their latest fighter, Capcom also hinted at their future plans, stating that: In addition to regular major title releases each fiscal year, Capcom is currently focused on reviving series that have not had new entries recently, or otherwise dormant IP. Beginning with MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE, a return … Read More »

While PlayStation gamers have already had a chance to play Resident Evil 7’s ‘Beginning Hour’ demo back in June, PC and Xbox gamers will have their chance later this month. The demo itself has already received two updates, with ‘Twilight’ providing more areas to explore, and ‘Midnight’ expanding rooms, weapons, enemies and endings. According to Capcom, the ‘Midnight’ update will finally allow gamers to ‘explore what lies beyond the mold-covered door, where terrifying growling noises emanate from.’ Xboxers will be the first to trial the new Resident Evil game when the demo drops on December 9th. Meanwhile, players on PC … Read More »

Japanese video game site Dengeki announced that Xbox and PC players of the upcoming Resident Evil 7 (Biohazard 7 in Japan) will be able to transfers their save-games between Xbox One and PC – fuelling speculation that the Capcom title could be one of the first third-party titles to adopt the Xbox Play Anywhere approach. Play Anywhere – which sees seamless integration of Xbox and PC titles, including at the purchasing stage where buying one version of the game nets you the other as well, absolutely free – has until now been available only on Microsoft Studios-published titles, where it’s the new … Read More »

Are you getting chills yet? Capcom certainly hope so, with their drip-feed of Resident Evil 7 teasers and trailers. And they’ve just released teaser vol. 2, ‘Shotgun in a Box’. This time, it’s focused on weapons and ammunition – or more accurately, the lack of them. There’s a damn good reason why the video’s single description reads: ‘Save your ammo… You’ll need it.’ The game’s graphics look absolutely gorgeous, consider it’s a horrifically dingy room we’re in. But perhaps more importantly for old-school fans, it’s nice to see the return of the traditional inventory box – along with the limited … Read More »

Resident Evil 4 is like the Citizen Kane of games – it’ll always be near the top of those ‘Best Games Ever’ lists. We last played it on the GameCube 11 years ago, but after all this time, does the game deserve the praise it gets? So some backstory, for those not in the know. You play as Leon S. Kennedy – rookie cop star of Resident Evil 2, who not only survived Raccoon City’s zombie outbreak, but is also tragically afflicted with a centre parting and a bad case of the too-cool-for-school attitude that define Japanese gaming heroes. You … Read More »

It’s been a strange old day for Capcom and its other zombie series, Dead Rising. First, the Dead Rising 4 achievement/trophy list was leaked – and now the studio has confirmed what we all thought was probably true, but no-one dared to admit. According to games website Videogamer, a Capcom representative has announced that the original Dead Rising games, excluding Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3, will be making their way to current gen consoles and PC. Capcom’s rep told Videogamer that… Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In addition, Dead Rising 2 and … Read More »

Resident Evil 7 certainly caught the attention of gamers when it was revealed during E3 2016, not least because, with its first-person POV, it’s so utterly different from anything we’ve seen in the series before (and we’re not counting those FPS spin-offs with their emphasis on hot lead over horror). And according to a Capcom Unity interview with the game’s director, Kōshi Nakanishi, and producer, Masachika Kawata, the game’s not a reboot, but a return the series’ horror roots. During the interview, Nakanishi stated that: It’s not a reboot and we’re not throwing away the series’ canonical storyline. It’s the … Read More »
