With the Xbox being a solid brand name in gaming for over fifteen years now, there’s been a vast library of games to satisfy our gaming needs over the three generations of console. Some of these games became one hit wonders. Some spawned franchises and many sequels. And some we just resigned to the recycle bin never to mention again. After the release of the zany Xbox platformer Voodoo Vince last week on Xbox One, we got thinking here at Xbox One UK. What other titles from the original Xbox would we like to see have a remaster on Xbox ... Read More »
Forget your Guardians of the Galaxy, screw your Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay and shove your Game of the Year winners. There's only one piece of news you should be concerned about coming out of The Game Awards: BULLETSTORM IS GETTING REMASTERED! Bulletstorm was an underrated first person shooter that challenged you to “kill with skill”. Armed with a meaty kick and a brilliant energy whip, enemies weren't so much threats as they were fodder for your artistic murdering. Unfortunately, sales were lacklustre, and despite the sequel bait ending, Bulletstorm looked to be a one and done affair. A shame really, ... Read More »
Stay frosty. Turns out the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shoots all over the competition, becoming the most played instalment at the moment. According to Game Revolution, ‘Infinite Warfare ranks at the #4 spot, as opposed to Call of Duty's usual #1 placing during launch month. As far as what's outperforming it, interestingly enough, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered sits at the #2 spot.’ It was never going to be a contest, was it? Packaging Modern Warfare with the latest Call of Duty was always going to be like giving away free cheeseburgers when you buy a stick ... Read More »
Anyone else remember playing the original Batman Arkham series on last-gen consoles? Remember its awful, blocky 8-bit graphics? And didn’t you have to squint to work out that purple and green blob was supposed to be The Joker? What a mess of a game. At least, we assume that’s what it must’ve been like – what other reason could there be for remastering one of the best gaming experiences out there? We’ll be upfront here, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were both 10/10 games. We struggle, even now, having just replayed them, deciding on which is better (Definitely Asylum… No, ... Read More »
It won't be long now before all you adventurers can step back into the well-worn boots of the Dovahkiin to re-experience the rich world of Skyrim. Still, you won't be going anywhere if you haven't got the space on your hard drive. Bethesda have said that the game will need 25GB worth of space in Europe, but only 17GB in North America. Quite why there's an 8GB difference between the two continents baffles me, but that's the world we live in. Still, there is something to look forward to. Bethesda have said they will be releasing a new creation kit ... Read More »
This article right here is for all those gamers who missed this hidden gem the first time round. Do not make that mistake again. According to the Brazilian Advisory Rating Board, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition has been rated for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It's listed as being published by Gearbox Software and is scheduled to be released in 2017. This isn't the first rumour of a Bulletstorm remaster. Back in June, screenshots of a Bulletstorm remaster were included in an E3 asset package distributed by Microsoft, but no official announcement was made, nor has one been made ... Read More »
It has been almost ten years since Bioshock exploded onto the scene and instantly became a classic of the FPS genre. With its iconic Big Daddies and sweet as mud little sisters, it grabbed the attention of gamers and the following two games, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite have only tightened that grip. So now is the time that 2K have decided is appropriate to release a remastered collection of all three games in one neat little package - Bioshock: The Collection. The remaster debate is a sticky one. There are those who relish the chance to revisit the games that they ... Read More »
Would you kindly prepare yourselves for the imminent release of Bioshock: The Collection by checking out the all-new launch trailer for the game. The collection, released worldwide on 15th September, features fully remastered versions of the original trilogy, with a graphical boost in lighting, textures, all running in the holy grail of 1080p/60fps. Or 'up to 60fps', at least, as the studio has been keen to point out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRWexlrZJc4 Bioshock's remasters also includes all of the DLC for all of the games, meaning you won't miss a single thing from Irrational Games' creepy and well-realised game universe. Fans of the ... Read More »
Red Dead Redemption could be getting a remastered version for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, if rumours are to be believed. Rumours have been swirling of a sequel to the hit western epic, with maps and other details apparently leaked online – however, unsurprisingly, it seems that a remaster may be in the works. It comes from Korean website Game Focus, who claim that they've heard rumblings of Asian localisation for RDR. Forgive the rough translation here, but... In mid-August we heard stories of the Asian localising of Red Dead Redemption in America. Checking with multiple North American sources, it seems that ... Read More »
