It’s always nice to get things for free, wouldn’t you agree? Ubisoft certainly would, as the new free Black Ice update has dropped for Rainbow Six: Siege, giving us 2 new Operators, a new map and some new weapon skins. The map included takes place on a luxury yacht, and the two new operators, Frost and Buck, represent the elite Canadian special operations JTF 2 force. There is a catch, however. Whilst the map is completely free, the new operators are only available for Season Pass holders, at least for this week. From February 9th, regular players will be able to … Read More »

Images of the two new operators that will accompany Rainbow Six Siege’s Black Ice DLC have emerged online. The leak made its way to reddit via the user Fireinyoyrhole who found the images on the /vg/ Rainbw 6 General Thread on 4Chan and shows off the two new Canadian operators and their default load-outs. The two operators are called Frost and Buck. Frost is a female defense operator who has the ability to incapacitate enemies through a trap. Buck is an attack operator with an ability named Skeleton Key which adds a shotgun attachment to the under-barrel of his main weapon. Each … Read More »

Ubisoft are doing themselves proud with the latest entry in the Rainbow Six series, Rainbow Six: Siege. The company seem heavily invested in the title, more so than they have with other franchises over the past few years such as Assassin’s Creed and more notably (and perhaps of a more forgettable nature) Watch Dogs. That investment doesn’t seem to be slowing as we head into the New Year with at least two new patches coming this month as well as a huge game update at the start of February. Below I’ve tried to provide brief bullet points of patch updates that … Read More »

Operation Black Ice was originally slated for release in January, though it has now been revealed that Ubisoft has pushed the new content back to Febuary 2 for Season Pass holders. This season pass is different from most others, however. Owners of the pass will get boosts and a week of early access to the games new operators, but the maps release for free at the same time for everyone. Operation Black Ice will add two new operators from a Counter-Terrorism Unit to the game, both bringing new weapons and gadgets to the game. A new map and multiple new weapon skins … Read More »

It has been a while since we have been this conflicted about a game. Rainbow Six Siege is at times a brilliant, tense, unbelievably fun gaming experience. At other times, playing feels like some dreadfully masochistic penance. And the game seems conflicted about itself, too – unsure where full-priced retail game ends and a woolly free-to-play model starts. If you want to put numbers to it, sometimes it’s a nine, sometimes it’s a three. Read on to find out which will be the right score for you. Seven years on from Rainbow Six Vegas 2, the world is definitely ready … Read More »
