World of the West is a game with four heroes, four journeys but only one story. Lumina, Teri, Knaus and Clonington are on a full on adventure as they journey through the World of the West. World of the West is focused mainly on exploration but there is still a lot of action here as well as a fair few puzzles. Each puzzle will have several different solutions depending on which character you are using. Your team is made up of a teslamancer, an optimistic underdog, a seasoned explorer and a strongman aristocrat so you should be all set for ... Read More »
Developer Rain Games' second game World To The West is set in the same universe as their previous game Teslagrad, offering some similar mechanics but experimenting with a whole different perspective, making it more of a 3D action adventure title as opposed to a 2D puzzle platformer. This title doesn't hold your hand, aside from the initial pop ups that display the buttons and what they do, but right from the moment you hit new game on that menu screen, the story kicks in and throws you straight into it, controlling the first of four characters you will play as - ... Rain Games have announced that their latest project, World to the West, will be arriving on Xbox One on May 5th. Set in the world of their previous title, Teslagrad, players take control of one of four playable characters to explore an uncharted world of ancient civilisations and prophecy. Picking from either Lumina the Teslamancer, Knaus the Orphan/Survivor, Miss Teri the Mind Bender and the mustachioed strongman aristocrat, Lord Clonington, you'll engage in combat with a plethora of enemies and attempt to solve puzzles in the age old quest for secrets and goodies. The four characters should add enough variety to ... Read More »
There are no words in Teslagrad, save the title screen and closing credits, yet this puzzle-platformer from developer Rain Games tells a cohesive, flowing, and engaging story. That it manages to tell any kind of story without words is an achievement; Teslagrad's story is a complex one of treachery and greed, loss and hope, all conveyed through wordless puppet shows and still images. Remarkable. Teslagrad is a game that is many things at the same time. It is a platform game that has puzzles, it's a thoroughly modern game that's steeped in nostalgia, and it's a tight platform game played out ... Read More »
What will you be doing on March 9th? If you answered, ‘Playing Teslagrad on the Xbox One,’ well said. Indie developer Rain Games has announced that, a mere two-and-a-half years after its initial release, their 2D puzzle-platformer will be bolting to the console at the beginning of March. Lauded by critics for its nostalgic nods, hand-drawn artwork, and complex brain-teasers, the game itself could be described as the thinking man’s Super Mario – or the foolish man’s Portal – as players use electromagnetic powers to solve increasingly difficult puzzles. Teslagrad has previously been released on pretty much every console going ... Read More »
