As we reported here back in May, Project Spark servers are set to be shut down this coming Friday. This is bad news for fans of the rather unique title as it means that user created content can no longer be uploaded or downloaded. This also means that any in game achievements that require input from the community such as downloads, uploads or remixes can no longer be earned so you'll need to get any missing ones out of the way pretty quick. It's official, Project Spark is no more. Microsoft announced Friday afternoon that their online game creator is no longer for sale as of today. Online services will end in August. Here's a little gift for you during the Christmas Season... Team Dakota's creation tool Project Spark went completely free a couple of months ago, much to the chagrin of those who paid actual money. However, refunds were promised at some point, and it appears now is that point. It has been announced that free-to-play creation tool Project Spark will make all of it's premium content free from October 5th. In a move that Team Dakota have described as a jump from a "free-to-play model to a free and open creation platform", all previously released paid DLC will be unlocked for every Project Spark user.
