The silence has ended from Platinum Games, regarding this weeks news that Microsoft have pulled the plug for Xbox One Exclusive Scalebound. However, it might not be the answers we are looking for with no explanation, despite an apology. Kenichi Sato, Platinum Games Chief Executive stated that the studio is "very disappointed things ended up this way, especially since we know many of our fans were looking forward to this game as much as we were." We have just learnt of yet another Xbox exclusive cancellation, from our friends over at Windows Central. This time it's Platinum Games' Scalebound; the action-RPG dragon-riding epic - which was one of 2017's highly anticipated titles. We knew that it would be a mammoth of a game, allowing up to 4 players co-operating and customising dragons to their liking, and was first announced back in 2014. We've seen countless images and numerous gameplay footage, especially some showing off dragon battles that was shown at E3 2016: Scalebound had the potential to be a whole new IP, with sequels and potential merchandise. No further news is expected on Microsoft Studios' Scalebound until 2017, judging by a tweet this week from Microsoft chief executive Phil Spencer One Twitter user asked Phil if it would be possible to share any news for the upcoming title. In response, Spencer said: 'Sorry, probably no new Scalebound news before 2017.' However as Microsoft does not hold any specific events in the latter half of the year, this news should come as no surprise. First, he stated that Microsoft are committed to making the absolute best TV gaming console experience, and now he’s been chatting to fans on his Twitter feed about, well, everything. We've known this has been coming for a while thanks to all the leaks, but we finally have an announce trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. Developed by Platinum Games, responsible for some of the greatest character action games of this generation (Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta, Transformers: Devastation), the trailer shows off some snippets of gameplay and a look at the cel-shaded art style. Scalebound is the upcoming RPG from Platinum Games that sees you fight alongside a dragon that goes by the name of Thuban.
