Great news for Oculus Rift owners as it has been announced you can now stream Xbox One and Xbox 360 backward compatible games straight to the virtual reality headset. The update, announced as a feature of the Xbox One Streaming app, allows you to stream if your PC and Xbox One are connected to the same network. You'll be able to choose from three different virtual theater modes. This will give the feeling of playing on the big screen, but at a lower resolution. Xbox's Major Nelson reports on the feature in the video below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvzYaTgqxRY It appears this works ... Read More »

At least one major developer is currently planning to release a new virtual reality game on Xbox One in 2017, and plans to show that game at E3, according to respected technology publication Ars Technica. While unconfirmed at the moment, Ars' reputation in the technology space, alongside recent reports that Microsoft is planning a much more powerful Xbox One console in 2017, leads us to put this in the 'more likely than not' category, especially in light of Microsoft's planned convergence of PC and Xbox. Whilst the name of the developer hasn't been released, we do understand it's a well-known European ... Read More »

You'll be able to play Xbox One games on Oculus Rift via Windows 10 streaming, however direct play from your console to the Rift virtual reality headset won't be a thing for some time yet, if at all. Speaking to Polygon, Nate Mitchell, the vice president of product at Oculus, stated, "It has been a conversation, but I can say we're not so close." "What we were finding is that it's hard enough to deliver a great experience reliably on Windows, never mind adding OS X and Linux to that, which are different beasts entirely." This comes after Oculus released ... Read More »
Apparently something's happening next week. E3, I think it's called. Just a quiet little event in some Californian city. What's that? It's the biggest video games trade fair where the majority of reveals and announcements are made? Oh. Oh, my. Yes, E3 is finally here! Well, here today if you're in an American time zone, here early tomorrow and onwards for everyone else. Xbox One UK will be covering as much of the news, trailers, and goings-on as we possibly can - we've even got a new E3 section on the site. Before things get going, though, here's an update on the ... Read More »
