Here we are, less than a month away from the launch of Injustice 2, and we've finally got an in-depth look at the big baddie of the story mode. Please welcome Brainiac. The trailer shows how Brainiac has took advantage of an Earth in disarray. With the Regime, the Insurgency and the Society all fighting for the fate of the planet, invasion is all too easy for the Collector of Worlds. Whilst we do get a brief glimpse at some of Brainiac's gameplay, the main focus of the trailer is some unseen story content, with former allies turned enemies having ... Read More »
Another week, and another Injustice 2 trailer has dropped in the run-up to the game's full release on May 19th, and this time we're focusing on the villains. The trailer, which you can check out below, showcases some never before seen gameplay of 2 new characters and one returning personal favourite. And some Gorilla Grodd for good measure. The new characters in question are Bane, who was insanely good in the first game if you used him correctly, Captain Cold and Scarecrow. Scarecrow looks like an actual monster, crawled straight from the visceral nightmares of your childhood, whilst Captain Cold ... Read More »
The Injustice 2 media cavalcade is picking up steam all the way to the game's release in May, and NetherRealm aren't done yet. Today, a new trailer dropped in the Shattered Alliances series, which show off the much anticipated Story Mode. This time, it's the turn of newcomer Supergirl, who was sent away from Krypton at the same time as Superman. Now, she finds herself caught in the midst of war between the Regime and the Insurgency, torn between her loyalty to her family and her duty to protect the innocent. It should make for a compelling character arc, in ... Read More »
The Netherrealm media blitzkrieg for Injustice 2 seems to be in full swing, as the Shatter Alliances - Part 2 trailer has dropped, showing off Batman's side of the fight. Here, we see Batman struggling to trust people he spent years calling an adversary, such as The Flash and Green Lantern, whilst also trying to combat the re-emergence of The Regime. We haven't even got to the threat of Brainiac yet! We also get to see some gameplay for Green Lantern, footage of a cutscene scrap between The Flash and the Reverse Flash on a busy highway and- wait, was ... Read More »
Last week we learnt all about Superman's desire to get the band back together, reform the Regime and dominate the planet once again, but today we've learnt about the latest character to join the Injustice 2 roster: step in Doctor Fate. Doctor Fate has had many iterations since his debut in 1940, but it appears that Netherrealm Studios have opted to utilise the original wearer of the Helm of Fate, Kent Nelson. This seems to be par for the course with the Injustice universe, using the original characters instead of more modern versions of the characters. In terms of gameplay, ... Read More »
November gave us Xbox One gamers a lot of great gifts on the backwards compatibility program (Omega Five, anyone?), but with the run-up to Christmas now officially underway, the gifts are still coming. Major Nelson took to Twitter, as per usual, to reveal the next additions to the backwards compatibility library: Injustice: Gods Among Us (incl disc only Ultimate Ed) & Haunted House are coming to Xbox One Back Compat today https://t.co/qPMRNrLoTQpic.twitter.com/TD0zs9zIO8 — / Larry Hryb / (@majornelson) December 1, 2016 Haunted House seems like it's late by over a month. Halloween was back in October! Still, the big news ... Read More »
The cynic in me says this reveal was timed with the recent release of Suicide Squad, but that's a digression for another day. At Gamescom 2016, Netherrealm Studios revealed the next two members of the Injustice 2 roster: master assassin Deadshot, and the maniacal Harley Quinn. Both of them look like a lot of fun to play! Harley utilises a somewhat comedic offense of over-sized hammers and baseball bats, alongside her two pet hyenas. Deadshot, meanwhile, sets out to prove why his Gun Fu is better... and succeeds. We also get a look at some of the alternate costumes you ... Read More »
Is there going to be anything left for E3? These leaks in the run up to the convention, a time you could call the "Pre-3" season, have been getting out of control. Bethesda's entire presentation seems to have been revealed, Dead Rising 4 has been outed, and now we've got confirmation that Injustice 2 will be unveiled soon. Injustice was a 2013 fighting game from MK devs Netherrealm Studios that saw DCs heroes and villains have a giant ruckus. The leak, which was given to Polygon, shows a poster that will be given to consumers who pre-order Injustice 2. Check ... Read More »
Yesterday NetherRealm Director Ed Boon announced on Twitter that big news about Mortal Kombat X was going to be coming today. He then tweeted out a few clues but the dots weren't put together until the big announcement came today. Big news coming as soon as tomorrow... pic.twitter.com/rPw7eEL88q — Ed Boon (@noobde) March 29, 2016 Well now the big news has arrived in the form of the announcement of the start of a new professional tournament series that will include the ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 3 and the ESL Challenger Cup. The series will begin in April. ... Read More »
