Major League Gaming, once the largest esports company in North America, is going out of business. In a special meeting on Dec. 21, MLG’s Board of Directors approved an Asset Purchase Agreement granting Activision Blizzard a large majority of MLG’s assets in exchange for $46 million. The Electronic Sports League, the world's largest e-sports league, said recently that it will begin randomly drug testing players at its competitive video game tournaments. The e-sports organization, which boasts around 5 million players, plans to work with the World Anti-Doping Agency to create and enforce rules surrounding the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
