With recent news that you can drive a UNSC Warthog in Forza Horizon 3, we look back on some of our favourite – and most surprising – gaming crossovers. When we sat down to make our list, we realised there were more examples than we realised – everyone has a favourite franchise or genre and could think of half a dozen examples. And not just games invading other games. We all know what happens when games invade movies (the less said about Pixels, the better) but sometimes when it goes the other way, it can be brilliant. We’ve whittled our list … Read More »

Vault Dweller! War might not change, but the post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland just got a whole lot more cubic… Minecraft devs Mojang have announced that a mash-up pack to the popular RPG Fallout will be coming to consoles at some point in the near future. Last month felt pretty disappointing when it came to Games with Gold line-up – although I’m never going to knock free games like Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. But it seems you guys are a lot happier with December’s offerings. Minecraft continues to be a title that continues to loved by young and old fans alike. The main reason for this, aside from the obvious limitless creative options the game affords, is because the developers never let the title become forgotten or fall by the wayside. Updates are released at least a couple of times a year. Over the last year or so consoles in particular have been afforded some updates that have often been reserved for PC users. Mojang’s end goal being to bring the console version in line with, or as close as possible to, it’s PC brethren. As such Mojang have today … Read More »

We always thought that if cross-play gaming were to become a success, it’d probably begin with a game like Minecraft. It seems that Minecraft’s developer Mojang agree. There was a lot of buzz around cross-play a couple of months back, with developers and senior gaming figures all saying what a great idea it was – the studio behind Rocket League literally said they were ready for Xbox One-PS4 cross-play the moment Sony gave the nod. But has that nod been given to another studio? Minecraft brings everybody together, including competing devices! Realms supports cross-platform play, & there's a free trial! … Read More »
