Achievements. Don’t you just love them? Often imitated, never bettered (we’re looking at you, Trophies) they have been a major element of the Xbox experience since the very first days of the Xbox 360 back in 2005. For many of us, the iconic “Acheievement Unlocked” beep triggers many happy childhood memories every time we hear it. Microsoft announced the first real change to Achievement notifications last week, with the Rare Achievement notification. If you’re struggling to hear that sound poop for you, here’s a tip: dust off that Halo: The Master Chief Collection disc and get basting. According to stat tracking experts True … Read More »

For a fast-paced FPS, Valley – from indie devs Blue Isle Studios – is one of the most soothing adventures you’re ever likely to play. It’s a far cry from the studio’s last game, Slender: The Arrival, as Valley has you scouring a strange location deep in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains; a world filled with adorable forest sprites, a WWII military presence, and a focus on the symbiotic nature of mankind and the Earth. Let’s deal with a major negative before we look at what’s great about the game: Valley kicks its story off with some of the … Read More »

Inside the new hardware, you will find a reference to the famed Xbox figure Master Chief from the Halo series.  He is actually stencilled into the optical drive bracket which you can see below: Hopefully seeing the image will be enough to satisfy you for the sake of opening your Xbox console will void your warranty.  What … Read More »

There’s no denying that she is one of the main characters from the series but there is one slight problem, didn’t she perish in HALO 4 or is there a twist to this tale? Good news for us though, Mike Colter who is the voice actor for John Locke gave us the tiniest snippet in a recent interview: “When he goes into Halo 5, you’ll see him transition into a Spartan, a super soldier. It’s … Read More »
