It's been five years since our adventures with Commander Shephard. For most, it was a disappointing affair; having spending countless amount of hours only to have been delivered an abysmal conclusion to the series. We now have BioWare's next instalment: Mass Effect: Andromeda, set some 600 years later, so how does it fare up to its predecessor? Set in the year 2185, man (and Turian, Asarian, Salarian and Krogan) is boldly going where no man (or Turian, Asarian, Salarian or Krogan) has ever gone before - into a whole new galaxy, thanks to ancient technology discovered on Mars. We see ... Read More »
They'll be no surprises as to what is sitting at the top of Amazons best selling list this week for Xbox One. The crown goes to Mass Effect Andormeda with strong sales in both pre-orders and since launch. Elsewhere in the top 20 best sellers sees both standard and legacy editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare make the top ten. This is somewhat of a resurgence, likely down to the reduced price but now sees prime competitors Battlefield 1 sit below, whilst Titanfall 2 fails to make the top 20. Long term main stays Overwatch and the dog that ... Read More »
Ea Access members have been enjoying a 10 hr trial since Thursday. Most are enjoying the game, but have come across some graphical issues/errors and other things such as NPC's sliding along instead of walking, frankly odd faces made when talking, staring blank expressions, horrible preset character choices if you want to be a female character and makeup on NPC's that looks like they let their 3yr olds apply it! The games Lead Designer 'Ian Soon Frazier' informed us that EA Access members are already playing with the day one patch in place - Hey folks, the live support team ... Read More »
Mass Effect Andromeda has today come to EA Access with a 10hr trial and will soon have a mobile companion app so you can keep track of your progress in the game's online modes. You will be able to keep tabs on the game's standard multiplayer 4 person co-op horde mode, as well as the Strike Team missions in your single-player campaign. Strike Team missions can be completed by assigning a team of AI to head off into the unknown on your behalf and collect rewards, or you can collect additional prizes by undertaking the missions yourself in multiplayer. The Mass ... Read More »
Mass Effect: Andromeda is released next week, (23rd March) and due to some players being able to preload the game we know how big it is, and it's pretty big! Users on Twitter and Reddit have been reporting the file size as they begin to download the game, which comes in at 42.19GB. Not the biggest download, but with lots of other games now sporting  large file size it may be time to invest in a new external hard drive! Why not check out our External Hard Drive Review here? With a day One Update on the cards for us BioWare has their hands full, as ... Read More »

Yesterday we were treated to a few details that clarified a few things regarding the multiplayer element of Mass Effect: Andromeda. There have been a lot of questions focusing on this recently, especially since the announcement that the beta has been cancelled. The major thing to know about the multiplayer set up is that there won't be dedicated servers. Instead the multiplayer co-op mode will be based around peer-to-peer connections. To veterans of the franchise this information won't come as too much of a surprise as Mass effect 3 also used Peer-to-peer connections as well. This decision has been taken ... Read More »
In the run up to the release of any game we can expect to be treated to a whole host of trailers revealing all kinds of different features and Mass Effect: Andromeda is no different. Yesterday we were treated to the first edition in a new series of gameplay videos, this one is called Combat. In Combat we are shown how your movement is fluid and you can dart in different directions with the use of a jet pack. There is also a new cover system that is highlighted and it looks to make combat very movement based so you ... Read More »
There has been some speculation recently that the upcoming Bioware game Mass Effect: Andromeda will be an open world game. Producer Michael Gamble has come out and said that this is certainly not the case. But then again it is also not entirely linear either. "I definitely wouldn't call Andromeda an open-world game," Gamble said "We like to use the term 'exploration-based game.' You still have the concept of tight story deliverance and all the great things you come to expect with Mass Effect." This shouldn't really come as a surprise as the previous games followed the same pattern. Sometimes ... Read More »
