A keen eyed Reddit user  has discovered that the first episode of the episodic Kings Quest appears to be showing as free in the Xbox store at this moment in time. Whether or not this is an intentional move from Microsoft is unsure at this moment in time though it is worthwhile to mention that it has been given away on other platforms too as recently as last month. At Pax 2015 The Odd Gentleman announced in a panel that the second chapter in the King’s Quest series will be out before the end of the year. They also provided a few story details, so for those who haven’t played yet and don’t want any spoilers look away………now! King’s Quest is an upcoming episodic video game developed by The Odd Gentlemen, published by Sierra Entertainment and distributed by Activision Blizzard. It is the ninth game in the King’s Quest series. While it will be an adventure game like the previous games in the series, the interface will not be point-and-click. Developer Sierra Games have announced that they will release the first chapter of their long-awaited graphic adventure game King’s Quest for Xbox One on July 29th. The episode will be entitled King’s Quest: A Knight To Remember. You can view the official trailer and screenshots here. King’s Quest will cost £7.99 per episode. Sierra also announced that a bundle of all five episodes called King’s Quest: The Complete Collection will also be available for £31.99. Pre-orders will be available for Xbox One from July 7.
