Who hasn’t ever wanted to be a ninja?  Having the skills in combat as well as the grace needed to move about without ever being seen – that would be amazing. Kyurinaga’s Revenge is a 2D platformer that allows you to take the role of one two ninja warriors in a pursuit to top an evil warlord.  While it is a true-to-form platformer, it doesn’t quite offer the full-on ninja experience.  At least not without limitations. In Kyurinaga’s Revenge you play as Kaoru and Broccoli – one is an onion and the other is well… broccoli.  Kyurinaga’s war machine took a decisive blow right after … Read More »

Time to save the world, indie style If there’s one thing all gamers have in common it is the age old story line of world destruction, we have all experienced it at some point in our history. So what if a game uses this theme but gives it their own spin, that grabbed your attention didn’t it? Well as luck would have it one such game has cropped up that fits this description, it’s time to check out Ginger: Beyond The Crystal. As we mentioned earlier, the world has come to an end via a devastating explosion of a crystal. … Read More »

Time to explore the world through different eyes One thing we all love as gamers is the ability to explore vast open worlds with breathtakingly stunning views, it becomes so addicting that we can’t rest until every nook and cranny has been discovered. So how would you feel if I told you that you can go exploring via a whole new perspective, if you could see the environment through the eyes of a wolf – now that has got your attention. What’s even better is we now have an opportunity to do this, there’s no way we can let this … Read More »

As we find ourselves out of September, it’s time to start sharing the love and giving congratulations to people that truly deserve it. Here at Xbox One UK, we like to recognise the developers in the Indie scene – these guys and girls really do deserve extra credit for their work. They painstakingly get an idea from mere thoughts into an actual game for all of us to play and enjoy, now if that doesn’t deserve a tip of the hat then I really don’t know what does. So for the month of August, we have chosen the Indie title that … Read More »

With pop culture being flooded with the concept of surviving a zombie-like horde, it’s kind of hard for new zombie-themed creations to stand out. The Final Station, developed by Do My Best, does stand out, though, and does it without having a ton of flash and flare. This is a more thoughtful take on the zombie apocalypse, though so if you go into The Final Station with the expectation of having tons of weapons and mowing down zombies, you’ll be pretty disappointed. However, go into it with an open mind and you will get to enjoy the world it creates – even if it … Read More »

Last year we announced a neat puzzle platformer called Clockwork.  Clockwork is being developed by Australian first timers Gamesoft.  Gamesoft has put out some new gameplay of Clockwork,a game where you use the main protagonist to do tasks and then go back in time to essentially create multiples of yourself to get through puzzles and tasks.  Looks like a complex and fun experience.  See for yourself! You can find some additional information on Clockwork here. We all know and love the ever growing Indie scene, where dedicated developers work on their games for our beloved Xbox. Some do it as a job, some do it as a hobby. But every now and then something comes along that quite simply makes our hearts melt; something so touching in hits us right in the feels. That is exactly what has happened here, so tissues at the ready to wipe away the tears. I, Hope is heading to our consoles in 2017, but don’t expect this to be a normal release. I, Hope is a beautiful adventure but, for once, … Read More »

Game delays can happen for so many different reasons.  Maybe something went wrong.  A developer wants to perfect a game before it is released.  Either way it can be frustrating as a player when you are waiting for a title and it gets pushed back.  That’s what has now happened to developer Capybara Games as their upcoming title Below has now been delayed for a third time. Below was originally announced in 2013 and was one of the first known titles for the Xbox One but we are still waiting on it 3 years later.  With this most recent delay though, … Read More »

Cannon Brawl melds the tactical warfare and destructible terrain of Worms with the twitch reactions required of a Call of Duty style shooter.  There’s lots to see and do and Cannon Brawl is certainly a fun action game – especially in multiplayer – but it struggles to deliver on its promise of an engaging battle of wits. Originally a PC title released in 2013, Cannon Brawl is a 2D real-time strategy game that pits players against AI and human opponents, both local and online.  You command your base from a mobile airship that you move around the map, building offensive and defensive units to … Read More »
