It has become something of a tradition now, the Xbox Store Summer Spotlight begins tomorrow. In years past it was known as the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade but now it has been renamed but it still contains the joys that we remember. The Xbox Store Summer Spotlight will see 30 new Indie games been released onto the Xbox One over the next 6 weeks. That's five a week! Some of these titles will be from the high end of the ID@Xbox program but there will also be some more obscure gems hidden in there as well. Some of the ... Read More »
Get ready to dust down those Kinects, Air Guitar Warrior has been confirmed for release on March 29th 2017, via the ID@Xbox program. In what has been a hybrid between a music and the scrolling shooter genre, you're able to map your body into the game via Kinect as you take down a range of weird and wonderful foes. Founder and Lead Designer Aki Kanerva said; “With Air Guitar Warrior, we wanted to really push the rock attitude. 'Air guitars that shoot fire, ice and lightning, dinosaur riding, flying flaming demon skulls… it’s going to melt your face!” He's not wrong ... Read More »
As we find ourselves heading to the last few days of November, it’s time to start sharing the love and giving congratulations to people that truly deserve it. Here at Xbox One UK, we like to recognise the developers in the Indie scene – these guys and girls really do deserve extra credit for their work. They painstakingly get an idea from mere thoughts into an actual game for all of us to play and enjoy, now if that doesn’t deserve a tip of the hat then I really don’t know what does. So for the month of August, we ... Read More »
Time to explore the world through different eyes One thing we all love as gamers is the ability to explore vast open worlds with breathtakingly stunning views, it becomes so addicting that we can't rest until every nook and cranny has been discovered. So how would you feel if I told you that you can go exploring via a whole new perspective, if you could see the environment through the eyes of a wolf - now that has got your attention. What's even better is we now have an opportunity to do this, there's no way we can let this ... Read More »
If you haven't been playing Rivals of Aether, you should be. Especially if this glowing preview by a certain bearded chap is anything to go by. However, if you have, you'll have noticed that PC players have been received a couple of updates that we haven't been privy to.Worry not though, fellow Rivals, as today saw the release of Patch 0.15.4, which brings us back up to speed with the PC release. The Little Acre is a point and click adventure created by a Dublin based Indie studio called Pewter Games Studios. We were lucky enough to spend time with this game and we were pleasantly surprised on how difficult it can be, it is a colourful cartoon side scrolling adventure with clever puzzles placed in your way, figure out the puzzle before you can continue. The Little Acre follows the story of Aidan and his daughter, Lily, set in 1950’s Ireland. After discovering clues as to the whereabouts of his missing father, Aidan begins investigating until he inadvertently finds himself transported ... Read More »
Fans of some classic side scrolling shoot 'em up action should be pleased come September 9th, as Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax will be blasting its way onto Xbox One. Up to 4 players can jump in locally, controlling 5 different mechs with up to a possible 49 different weapon loadouts across a variety of different modes, including the Campaign and various challenges. Perhaps most interesting is both the inclusion of some "light-RPG elements" that allow you to further upgrade the devastating capabilities of your mech, and the full gameplay customisation that lets you finely tune how easy/difficult you want ...
