After last week’s Halo Mega Bloks leak, 343 Industries – the developers behind the series – have hinted that a game aimed at younger audiences could be on the horizon. Mega Bloks (essentially a hybrid of Lego and Duplo) have previously made Halo-related toy sets, so it seems natural that they’d want to release a game around the same premise. And when footage found its way on to the internet last weekend, the response was overwhelming positive. In their weekly dev blog, 343’s community manager discussed ‘Project Haggar’, as it was codenamed, saying: Who knows, with so much positive support … Read More »

With recent news that you can drive a UNSC Warthog in Forza Horizon 3, we look back on some of our favourite – and most surprising – gaming crossovers. When we sat down to make our list, we realised there were more examples than we realised – everyone has a favourite franchise or genre and could think of half a dozen examples. And not just games invading other games. We all know what happens when games invade movies (the less said about Pixels, the better) but sometimes when it goes the other way, it can be brilliant. We’ve whittled our list … Read More »

If you play Halo 5 this weekend – that’s 26-27 November – you’ll be the lucky recipient of an exclusive in-game emblem, Thanks Given. The emblem, revealed on the official Halo Twitter channel, looks a bit like Foghorn Leghorn’s been crammed into a Spartan helmet. We like it. We also like the idea of poor, defenceless, tasty birds donning armour and equipping Designated Marksmen Rifles whenever the Bernard Matthews truck rolls around… Play Halo 5 this weekend to get the elusive Thanks Given turkey emblem. Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours, from us at 343! pic.twitter.com/2PtCSXjUUR — Halo (@Halo) November 24, … Read More »

In case you missed it, which is very unlikely as it’s been all over the internet, this week sees the original Xbox console celebrating its 15th birthday. Of course with the Xbox celebrating it’s 15th birthday that also means that a certain first person shooter is also 15 years old. That FPS is none other than the flagship title of the Xbox, Halo: Combat Evolved. To celebrate this auspicious occasion Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, has confirmed that there will be some rather slick new gamer pictures added to the selection available to loyal gamers quite soon. Halo … Read More »

Fifteen years. What a wild ride. Fifteen years of Xbox green, the Master Chief and our favourite console family. On 15 November, 2001. Xbox was introduced to the world. Not everyone’s Xbox love goes back that far – but many of those who were there at the beginning, marvelling at interstellar wars in Halo or drifting ’round city Streets in Project Gotham Racing, are still part of our Xbox family. We can’t wait to see what’s in store in the future – and we’re excited to relive those last fifteen years in some great company this Tuesday, 15 November, Xbox’s birthday. (Yes, … Read More »
