Today has seen quite a lot of information released onto the world wide web regarding the development status of Halo Wars 2. The update came from Dan Ayoub, Studio Head of Strategy Games, 343 Industries. In a post on the official Halo Waypoint website Ayoub stressed that the studio have been working hard to rectify and fine tune some of the issues brought to their attention during the BETA stage a couple of months ago. One of the biggest problems the game faced during its BETA stage was the plague of connectivity and de-synch issues. The Head of Strategy Games at 343 … Read More »

Thinking. Let’s be honest – it’s not everyone’s strong suit. You, though. You look like an intelligent, thoughtful person (unless you are, you know, the presumptive Republican nominee) and I just bet you love a bit of strategic thinking. We do, too. So here are five quite brilliant Xbox One strategy games that’ll work the old grey matter more than the trigger finger. 5. The Living Dungeon There’s something comforting about a board game. Whether it’s harking back to a childhood we never fully embraced, a yearning for simpler times, or just an excuse to hang out with friends, board … Read More »

Halo Wars 2 is slated for a February 2017 launch, and Microsoft has confirmed there will be another Beta opportunity close to this date. While last week’s Beta was for Xbox One owners only, this new Beta will give Windows 10 players a chance to get in on the action too – Halo Wars 2 is already confirmed as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Buying the title digitally on either platform will net you the game on both. Quick reminder – this is cross-buy, not cross play – it’s already been confirmed that Halo Wars 2 won’t support cross-platform play. Microsoft … Read More »

Fans of the Halo series that are looking forward to the next installment of the spin-off series ‘Halo Wars’, are in for a treat, as some new artwork has been leaked online. The art was leaked by a Twitter user that goes by the name of LifeLower. This isn’t the first time that LifeLower has leaked something and considering their past leaks have played out, they already have quite a good track record.     The images are small and a little blurry, but they may have ended up giving us quite a bit to go on regarding the game … Read More »

Developers that support their games long after release are always good in our book – especially when they offer what fans have been crying out for. So credit to 343 Industries for their latest Halo 5: Guardians update. Players have had the ability to create maps for Arena, Breakout and Big Team Battle since December last year, thanks to a free update. But now Community Forge maps will be entering rotation alongside the regular maps on both Big Team Battle and Grifball matches. The news comes direct from the Halo Twitter account, confirming that the maps are now available to … Read More »

Reports have surfaced on Reddit regarding a set of new games that could be making their way to Xbox One’s backward compatibility. Reddit user Daymarr posted the incriminating evidence claiming that they had received an E-Mail from Microsoft. The E-mail listed a fleet of six games that would soon make their way over to the backward compatibility. These games were Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinite as well as Skate 3, Halo Wars and the much requested Call of Duty: Black Ops. Usually in this situation we could pass this off as a simple rumour, perhaps a solo redditor trying to grab … Read More »

Earlier today an email was “accidentally” sent to a number of Xbox users with some of the more anticipated games to come to the Backwards Compatibility program. One of these was Halo Wars, one of my all-time personal favorite games and one that has been on the “Coming Soon” list since November now. Each time a new list was released, I would scrutinise and curse at the absence of Halo Wars appearing on the playable list – the game has been just by my TV for 3 months now and I don’t even own an Xbox 360 anymore! Queue Arbiter Rage! … Read More »
