In a blog post in the early hours of this morning, Friday the 13th: The Game developers Illfonic and Gun Media shared an announcement regarding what's to come in the game. The single most important thing in that lengthy blog post is the image below, that details the upcoming roadmap of DLC for the game. In addition to publishing the above, the (lengthy!) blog post also seeks to shed some light on the apparent lack of progress with regard to fixing various bugs and crashes that are still present in the Xbox One version of the game. The post confirms ... Read More »
In a post on Facebook, Gun Media and Illfonic have announced that the long-awaited patch for the Xbox One version of Friday the 13th has passed certification and is now live. The game launched back in May and surpassed expectations in terms of sales and player numbers - and suffered a large number of performance related problems as a result. Several patches have improved the situation, but for a period of time the Xbox One version of the game has lagged behind the PS4 and PC versions due to problems gaining certification for the patch. It sounds like those issues ... Read More »
Friday the 13th released on 26th May 2017, and by all accounts has been an extremely buggy experience. The Xbox One version has been particularly afflicted - apparently due to the delay of a Day One patch that was released to other platforms shortly after the game launched. Since that time, Illfonic and Gun Media have been receiving and responding to reports of numerous problems with the game - including visual glitches and lengthy matchmaking times. In a post on their Facebook page, the developers have acknowledged the matchmaking problems and announced a patch that resolves a large number of ... Read More »
It's been a while since we first heard about Jason Vorhees terrorizing us in the upcoming survival horror game Friday the 13th: The Game.  After delays it's nice now that the folks at Gun Media and IllFonic are releasing Friday the 13th: The Game on 26 May, 2017.  This release is for multiplayer only with an campaign to follow later in the Summer.  Here was the official announcement on the game's Twitter page: https://twitter.com/Friday13thGame/status/855522236928839681 It's exciting to see such a horror classic get what appears to be the proper treatment and innovative ways to slaughter poor camp counselors.  What do ... The latest trailer for the delayed Friday the 13th game by Gun Media was released at PAX East 2017. The video demonstrates a range of grisly executions by the infamous killer Jason. Character models are nostalgically dressed in an 80's style fashion whilst the backtrack music gives this trailer a distinct feeling of the same era. Whilst there is no firm release date yet set, Friday the 13th was delayed to allow for improvements, but more interestingly, a single player campaign, which originally missed its stretch goal as part of a kickstarter for the title. Check out the full trailer ... Read More »
Kill or be killed in Friday the 13th: The Game.  This “semi-open world” lets you wreak havoc as Jason, or try to survive as one of the seven camp counselors. "It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage," developers said. "We want you to know we're revitalizing the golden era of slashers, and putting you at the controls of each horrific, blood-splattered moment." The trailer below debuted at PAX West and is as gory as the Mortal Kombat X trailers. It’s not for those of you that are squeamish. Skulls are stomped, guts are pierced, necks are ... Read More »
Horror fans rejoice – beloved schlock horror, Friday the 13th will be making its way to consoles pretty soon – and if the gameplay’s anything to go, it’s going to be utterly brutal. Check out the gameplay right here (This ain't for the faint of heart)… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELaA05np4_4 During a livestream over on Twitch, developer Gun Media showed off some of the most savage in-game killings since Rockstar’s Manhunt. There’s an interesting twist to the gameplay, too, as gamers will spend time slicing and dicing camp kids as iconic Jason Vorhees, while also desperately attempting to avoid the hockey-masked serial killer ...
