Newcomers and veterans can expect some treats The story of Battleborn is quite an usual one, it’s a game where nothing is bad about it at all but for some reason fails to connect to a vast majority of gamers. Maybe it was the release date being close to Overwatch, maybe it’s a genre that isn’t as big as first thought; no one is quite sure why but there is a silver lining. Gearbox have decided to release a humongous update that all players will enjoy regardless if they’re new to the field or a seasoned veteran – you know … Read More »

UPDATE: It appears, thanks to some handy NeoGaf users, that Borderlands is available as this weekend’s Free Play Days title. This is a promotion that Microsoft run every now and again when there’s some kind of sale on. The last one was Overwatch, but the program has also included Rainbow Six: Siege and Halo 5: Guardians. Usually, this promotion is limited to Gold members, but apparently Silver members have been able to download Borderlands too (thanks, Eurogamer), so perhaps there’s more to this story. We’re still waiting on confirmation from Microsoft regarding this. Original Post: Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has had a … Read More »

When Battleborn released earlier this year we found a game that was a pleasant mix of various genres. Whilst having a steep learning curve it was still fun to play with a different and interesting style. Unfortunately, it soon fell out of favour with many gamers. This was no doubt due to it being released so close to the release of FPS juggernaut Overwatch. The games are very different but the popularity of Overwatch definitely hurt a lot of Battleborn’s player base. That being said, the game still has a loyal fan base with many players feeling that by moving the game to free to … Read More »

Back in October 2009, Gearbox gave the world its vision of a RPG style first person shooter that gave us all an original IP in a style never seen.  Borderlands gave fans of multiple genres a way to spend 1,000’s of hours of our lives in the world of Pandora and it’s millions of weapons and loot.  Borderlands over the next couple years has been followed up with a sequel – as well as a pre-sequel.  With Borderlands: The Pre-sequel being the most recent but also least enjoyed game in the series, fans have been getting eager hoping for Borderlands 3. … Read More »

Gearbox has officially confirmed at a PAX East panel  that it will be developing its third Borderlands game (the Pre-Sequel was created by 2K Australia) after it is finished with current project Battleborn and the subsequent DLC. “It’s no secret, obviously there’s going to be another Borderlands” Gearbox CEO and president Randy Pitchford said, he went on to add “We don’t even know if we’re going to call it that. We could call it Borderlands 4 for all we know” (let’s be honest, that title would surprise no one). Battleborn art director Scott Kester said he will be the art … Read More »

Those of you of a MOBA persuasion will no doubt have half an eye on 3 May and the release of Gearbox‘s Battleborn, the next hero-shooter headed to Xbox One. Now, with two months to go to release, the last of the 25-strong hero roster has been revealed, in the form of Luchador El Dragón, all spandex and rippling muscles, and mad scientist Kleese, all… evil grin and evil-er moustache. Kleese glides around the arena in his Battle Throne (exactly how I like to get about when outside the Xbox One UK Castle) despatching his foes with weapons like the … Read More »

Gearbox Software, the developers behind the Borderlands franchise have announced that they are opening a new studio in Quebec and are currently recruiting developers. The developers hired will work on an initial title that will lead to full AAA production capability through 2016. Gearbox President Randy Pitchford had this to say, “We are fortunate that there is a lot of demand on us to deliver our brand of interactive entertainment within the powerful franchises we have at Gearbox Software and the challenge for us is growing to meet this demand.
