This years Gamescom in Cologne brought us many things to be hyped about during the Microsoft briefing, and throughout the rest of the event as well. One of the things I, and I guess a few of you as well, are looking forward to is Remedy’s game Quantum Break. The game that at the same time plays out as a TV series, showcasing the different sides in the conflict between the good and the bad. Lookwise the game is absolutely stunning, the graphics are exactly right and the whole game pretty much looks like a cinematic. Sure, not much has … Read More »

IGN sat down at Gamescom 2015 and let Game Director of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Scott Phillips share some news and thoughts on the upcoming game. The actual talk can be viewed here. He described how they wanted to tell the story from two different sides, and that’s where the twins come in. Both equipped with different skill-sets to handle the story and gameplay in two different ways. Evie being the stealthy more “assassin like” of the two, mostly sticking to the shadows, while Jacob is more of a direct combat, rush in, kind of guy. This is reflected in their … Read More »

Super Mega Baseball Extra Innings (and breathe) is an arcade sim baseball game that brings and interesting view on one of America’s favourite pastimes! This cartoon style sim aims to give you a slice of the baseball life. These opportunities appear very few and far between. That’s fine by me and there haven’t been very many baseball titles on the Xbox One to date. In fact, there’s only 1 and that’s RBI Baseball (US only). What I have seen from Super Mega Baseball is a solidly built and easy game that gives you all the help tips and hints to get … Read More »

During Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Gamereactor managed to get an interview (which can be viewed here) with Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake on all things Quantum Break. We knew from before that the game would feature a playable part, as well as a live action movie part. “Quantum Break has two elements; cinematic story-driven action game, and a live-action show,” Lake explained in summary. “They tell two sides of a story. There are two perspectives in the disc. In the game Jack Joyce our hero, and in the show you follow what’s happening in the enemy camp, inside a corporation … Read More »

Looking at Crackdown 3 when it was showcased at Gamescom 2015, I must say I was impressed. The sheer amount of destruction shown blew me away, pun intended. However, the amount of destruction we saw in the multiplayer part, in which the Xbox One will use the Microsoft Cloud to gather in different parts of the city using different servers to make the computations less for the actual box, will not be featured in the singleplayer. This has a bit of the community complaining since they want to be able to destroy as much online as offline. The developers however … Read More »

Are you looking forward to the Rise of the Tomb Raider but weren’t able to take part of the experience at Gamescom 2015? Don’t worry, we have a full playthrough of the demo that was available for playing at Gamescom. There’s not really that much to say, so sit back and enjoy the show.   I don’t know about you, but I really, really, need this game. I wasn’t a fan at first, but once played through Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on my Xbox One, I didn’t want the game to end. And since this is a continuation of that … Read More »
