In this feature article, we have come up with our list of what we think are the best games to spend your £20 pocket money on and we will be counting down to our favourite, providing you with the most bang for your buck. These are purely Xbox One games and based on prices from the digital Microsoft Store. Before we rustle up our top twenty, we will start off with our honourable mentions; titles we really wanted to have in the list but didn't quite make it for one reason or another. Honourable mentions Jackbox Party We couldn't decide ... Read More »
Astroneer, from indie developer System Era has us more than a little intrigued. Set during a 25th century gold rush, players must explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives and resources in harsh environments for the chance of striking it rich. On this adventure, a player’s most useful tool is their ability to shape their world, altering the terrain and extracting valuable resources from planets, and moons. Resources can be traded or crafted into new tools, vehicles, and modules to create everything from massive industrial bases to mobile rover bases. Looking like the marvellous offspring of Minecraft and the game ... Read More »
Another MOBA has entered our mists, this time it's Gigantic, a third person shooter. Gigantic is classed as "a hardcore 5v5 action for skilled gamers". An MOBA wouldn't be complete without its huge roster of characters, all with their own unique abilities and skills. Use weapons and spells to defeat your foes and come out on top, fighting enemy teams and summoning incredible creatures. Slightly different to other MOBA's, Gigantic requires you to work as a team building up power for your team's Guardian. Once earned, go GIGANTIC and squish the enemy team. Each character has their own unique skilltree that ... Read More »

How do you summarise Slime Rancher for someone that has never heard of the game? There are a couple of ways you could go about this. 'Beautifully animated' is one way. Or how about, 'A fun pick up and play title that isn't too mentally tasking?' Those are definitely ways you could describe Slime Rancher, the Monomi Park developed title that's just entered the Xbox Game Preview programme However, you could also explain it to friends and family a lot like this: "Well there are slimes and... There are these little coloured blob things that... So you go around collecting carrots, chicken and other stuff to ... Happy Dungeons is developed by Toy Logic and has just been released onto Xbox One via Game Preview. Interestingly, Happy Dungeons - a sequel of sorts to Xbox 360 title Happy Wars - is currently free to play, although right now you have the option to buy the Founders Bundle which comes with 250 Happy Jewels (in game currency). Happy Dungeons is a co operative action RPG that can be played online or played locally with up to three other people. This story-driven family friendly RPG has four difficulties: Human, Hero, Death and Insane. The aim of the story is to rescue the princess ... Read More »
You ever just thought to yourself “I know what I want: Smash Bros without all the licensed characters”? If so, you’ve been asking for Rivals of Aether. More than just a clone or a carbon copy, though, Rivals of Aether understands the formula of Smash Bros better than other contenders like Playstation All-Stars or... Kung-Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legend or whatever the hell crap title that game had. Rivals of Aether is a cut above those games and, more than that, a deserving alternative to the Nintendo powerhouse. In fact, when comes to learning how to play the game, ... Read More »
A yesterday it was leaked that Slime Rancher is now available on Xbox One as a Game Preview. Your console has never been as cute as it will be when you're busy catching and creating your own slimes! Slime Rancher is $19.99 on the Xbox store. If you are unfamiliar with this game, the description on the Xbox store is this: "Slime Rancher is the tale of Beatrix LeBeau, a plucky, young rancher who sets out for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the ‘Far, Far Range’ where she tries her hand at making a living wrangling ... We like We Happy Few. It's got a long road ahead of it - something developer Compulsion Games was very clear about when the dystopian 60s adventure joined the Game Preview programme - but there's an intriguing game lurking under the bits that need a little polish. Yesterday, the first in what is likely to be a continuing series of updates, fixes and changes landed on PC and will be heading to Xbox shortly. One of the biggest updates we'll see is in the survival element of the game, addressing what many felt was an over emphasis on staying alive that ... Read More »
