This year we have had a whole host of FPS titles, many have done well but none more than Battlefield 1. This is really down taking a step back in time instead of stepping forwards like most other FPS titles. EA it seems is very aware of their new titles potential, because of this they have layed out the next 3 months of content plans today. We will soon be seeing custom games, as well as when to expect the next updates to be rolled out. January 18th we will see the launch of Bleed Out, this update brings faster … Read More »

Despite strong sales – and maintaining a position in the charts, usually at the top – analysts say that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare hasn’t been as successful as the game’s previous instalment, Black Ops III. The fans warned them, but they went ahead and set their crazy FPS in the future anyway. But just to sweeten the deal, Activision threw in a remastered version of the granddaddy FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Many claim that this is the real reason why Infinite Warfare has been so popular. But not popular enough to stop a drastic 50% fall in … Read More »

Titanfall 2 has had a rough few weeks it seems. Despite critical acclaim, the game has been in the news for its poor sales. However Respawn Entertainment appear to be quite upbeat on their recent Blog and also revealed that the first free DLC, called Angel City’s Most Wanted, will drop on November 30th for those that pre-ordered although the rest of us will have to wait until December 3rd to play on the new map. I’ve been fortunate to work on some great games and be a part of some amazing communities during my career but I’ve never seen or … Read More »

Stay frosty. Turns out the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shoots all over the competition, becoming the most played instalment at the moment. According to Game Revolution, ‘Infinite Warfare ranks at the #4 spot, as opposed to Call of Duty’s usual #1 placing during launch month. As far as what’s outperforming it, interestingly enough, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered sits at the #2 spot.’ It was never going to be a contest, was it? Packaging Modern Warfare with the latest Call of Duty was always going to be like giving away free cheeseburgers when you buy a stick … Read More »

Overwatch’s Play of the Game is a neat little function that showcase the most impressive kill streak at the end of the game And that’s a problem. Because Overwatch isn’t about kill streaks and an awesome K/D ratio – a lot like Battlefield, you can earn just as many points by supporting your team. So while some POTGs are absolutely awesome, it flies in the face of Overwatch’s ethos of team play. That’s what’s inspired Blizzard to look at how POTGs currently run, and how they might be improved in a future update. Speaking to Kotaku, lead hero designer Geoff … Read More »

It’s been revealed today that Call of Duty’s latest instalment, Infinite Warfare, has sold 48.4% less than last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The sci-fi shooter was always going to have a tough time once released, with fans hating its futuristic setting and the Modern Warfare rip-off, not to mention releasing just weeks after Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2. Not that you’d convince publisher Activision about that. According to a financial briefing last week, they reckoned that sales were due to be down because it’s a new sub-brand – which might be true (Black Ops is easily the … Read More »

It seems that Infinity Ward have been attentive to all of the feedback given — which given the colossal failure (not sales-wise, but critical reception-wise) of Call of Duty: Ghosts, is not at all surprising. With less than a week until the launch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the pressure is certainly on for Infinity Ward to deliver. Even though the initial reception of Infinite Warfare wasn’t so dandy, and the beta received a mixed reception from even the most popular of Call of Duty YouTubers, such as Drift0r and PrestigeIsKey, I do believe that Infinity Ward will do whatever … Read More »
