You’d be forgiven for thinking that Brawlout is just the latest in an ever expanding line of Smash Brothers clones, and whilst that is true to some extent when you look on the surface, beneath that lies a whole different beast entirely… You see, Brawlout is aiming for a more skill determined playstyle as opposed to Smash’s sheer insanity. To turn a phrase; Smash is for show, Brawlout is for a pro. Fortunately, it won’t take you long reach that higher skill level. Taking on the developers Angry Mob Games at their EGX stand, I was swiftly handed my ass … Read More »

Tekken is one of the all time classics in the fighting game genre and rightfully so. Fans have been chomping at the bit for the next installment in the franchise for quite some time now and at E3 their wishes were, in part, granted. Tekken 7 is indeed on it’s merry little way. At E3 details were few and far between and we were not given any real idea on when we could expect it to land on an Xbox near you. Well all that as changed, well almost. Reports are coming in from an insider at Bandai Namco Entertainment … Read More »

The adventures of Pirate Stretch Armstrong hav- no, wait. Monkey D. Luffy. Monkey D. Luffy. Anyway, Monkey D. Elastic Band Man has had a long and storied history in anime and manga. One which, quite frankly, has slipped under our radar. So would this be the game to drag us, kicking and screaming towards the high seas? Eh, probably not. One Piece: Burning Blood draws a lot of parallels to the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, as both are anime inspired fighting games that take a unique look at specific arcs within the narrative. Burning Blood opts to focus on … Read More »

Iron Galaxy confirmed it a while ago, but we’ve finally got a glimpse: the last of the classic Killer Instinct characters, barring bosses, is making his way to Killer Instinct Season 3. Everyone… meet Tusk. Okay, so it’s only a brief 15 seconds of trailer, but it’s enough to get a glimpse of his stage and redesigned costume. Snowy fights against a viking warship backdrop, anybody? Tusk himself looks much better than he did in Killer Instinct 2, earning himself both a beard and some sweet tattoos. It’s all very Beowulf, or Conan. With the four characters of Tusk, Kim … Read More »
