Vault-Tec Workshop is the latest DLC for Fallout 4, and as the title suggests this one is again based around ‘building and crafting’. This is more of an add-on than fully-fledged DLC, and the price reflects that. This time around you won’t be augmenting your standard settlement or building murderous robots; instead, Vault Tec Workshop gives you the opportunity to manage your very own Vault. Much like in Wasteland Workshop and Contraptions Workshop, this DLC is all about building and crafting. Your task is to build a new home for some of the wasteland’s settlers – but with a slight twist thrown … Read More »

Here we go again with the next exciting DLC for Fallout 4. Contraptions Workshop is DLC in the vein of Wasteland Workshop (check our review); minor DLC that doesn’t add any new story to the game and is once again based around crafting. This time it’s not settlements or cages – this time it’s machines. Have you ever wanted to move all your pre-war money from one place to another, all at once? Maybe you want to make a useful crafting machine to cook your food into delicious treats? Or perhaps you just want to build the most epically complicated contraption ever, just to fire a single … Read More »

Last night at E3 it was Bethesda’s turn to showcase its new wares, amongst the array of triple AAA titled games was the news that Fallout 4’s next 3 DLC’s will be released over the next 3 months – starting next week. First to arrive is the new Contraptions Workshop – Priced at £3.99 GBP, with a release date of June 21st 2016. Machines, machines and more machines. There’s a definite case to be made that previous installments for Bethesda’s Fallout 4 – Automatron and Wasteland Workshop – were merely filler: while Fallout 3 had great expansions that significantly expanded the story, the lore and the world, Fallout 4 is bereft in comparison. Until now – certainly in terms of scale – that is. Fallout 4: Far Harbor, the third expansion of Bethesda’s latest tale of wasteland woe, introduces (so they tell us) the largest landmass ever to grace a Bethesda expansion, so there’s plenty of bang for your buck here. If you want to dive straight in to the island of Far … Read More »

Bethesda Softworks have just released their trailer for the next Fallout 4 DLC – Far Harbor. As a Fallout fan I’m looking forward to it. Unlike the previous DLC, this is a full blown expansion to the already large Fallout world. In Far Harbor, a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children … Read More »

Fallout 4‘s latest DLC Wasteland Workshop – following on from last month’s Automatron – is a lightweight add-on which offers little more than a few neat toys with which to play. The cages and traps on offer can turn your settlement into a nightmarish cross between the worst kind of zoo and a gladiatorial arena. Meanwhile, you can spruce the place up a bit with a few cosmetic enhancements. Oh, and taxidermy. And that’s it – this £3.99 add on doesn’t offer any significant new content, no new characters and no new missions – unlike Automatron which although small in scale at … Read More »

As every Fallout fan knows, Fallout games are large in area, and large in bugs. Due to the nature of these massive open world games, people are always able to find some glitch or bug to exploit. Bethesda are usually on the case soon after however, ready to patch what ever has been discovered. For a while now there have not been any notable exploits in Fallout 4…. Until now. Thanks to the new DLC, a new glitch has been discovered around the Robot Workbench. I give you the Infinite XP glitch. Now bear with me here as this isn’t the … Read More »
