Microsoft have declared its plans to upgrade the Xbox One's inbuilt video game capture. The update will be viable in the new console update which will feature this Autumn. In addition to any improvements Microsoft have made, an increase in the recording resolution from 720p to 1080p will be seen. Support for external hard drives will also be upgraded, meaning that game captures can now save directly onto the device. Remember last year when it was announced that a DVR feature would be added to the Xbox One? The over-the-air live TV recording would have required a tuner (obviously) and an external hard drive. The one thing I definitely do not want to do is buy another external hard drive for my console, and though I love my Castle show dearly, I will just get a DVR from my TV provider. With more and more people streaming their shows through services like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, Microsoft must have sensed that it wasn't worth their time, since they cut the cord on the project. ...
