The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a short episode made by the creators of Life Is Strange. Chris lives with his dad, Charles, a former basketball star whose life has taken a nosedive in recent years and has turned to drink. The pair live alone in a house on the outskirts of small town called Beaver Creek, … Read More »

Developer DONTNOD (of Life Is Strange fame), attempts to change the standard way of storytelling and progression with their RPG title Vampyr. But does it rise from the dead or just bleed you dry? With no idea who turned him, why he was turned or what he’s capable of, he sets off to find work and discover what exactly is happening to him. Residing in a hospital where he can work … Read More »

Vampyr, the highly anticipated game from French developer Dontnod Entertainment (they were the guys who made Remember Me and Life Is Strange) has been delayed until Spring 2018. The RPG, which is to be set in the London slums in a time period immediately following WW1 was originally due to ship in November 2017. In a statement, Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert said: “Delaying the release of a project you hold dear is always a tough decision. However, we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality. We were still convinced just a few weeks ago that we would be able … Read More »

According to an album posted on Imgur, a Life is Strange prequel may very well be in the works but not by original developers Dontnod, but by developers Deck Nine Games. A screenshot was found on Deck Nine Games’ official website but was removed shortly after. If rumour has it, the prequel will focus on protagonists Rachel and Chloe from the original Life is Strange title, perhaps outlining the events of how they met and become good friends? Below are the leaked screenshots to the game in development, but doesn’t give away too much as to what the story is … Read More »

The brand new trailer for the Jekyll and Hyde-esque Vampyr has leaked a few days ahead of its official release at E3, showcasing gameplay and gore. Coming from Dontnod Entertainment – the developer behind choice-based time-bender Life is Strange – Vampyr looks set to force similarly challenging player choices: who will you kill next? In the new trailer we see protagonist Jonathan E. Reid giving us the bleak lowdown on a gloomy – but not dreary – London, which has become racked with disease and corruption. Reid himself, a WWI doctor who has been transformed into a vampire, must sustain … Read More »

Although the quality of its ending is questionable, Life is Strange still remains a highlight of the past year with its compelling story and twists upon the episodic genre. That a sequel now seems in the works is a good thing then, no? In an interview with French site Alchimy, Alain Damasio, co-founder of Dontnod and “script doctor” for Life is Strange, stated “I worked as a script doctor on Life is Strange developed by the studio DONTNOD and I will participate on Life is Strange 2 later.” That’s according to Reddit, at least, and if you paste the sentence into Google Translate (scroll … Read More »

Until the beginning of this month I hadn’t played a single episode of Life is Strange. Sure I’d heard it was good and knew I wanted to play it, but I’ve a backlog pile of games that’s growing so large a health and safety inspector would become nervous at the thought of it toppling over. This is important for you to know because it means I haven’t been present to the theories since the first episode launched back in January; haven’t waited in anticipation for the next episode to release; and ultimately haven’t had the months of emotional investment in the characters that … Read More »
