A new update for Destiny is coming next week. The update, 2.4.0, will arrive on September 8 alongside server maintenance. As part of this, Destiny’s servers will be offline for around eight hours, running from 3 pm BST to 11 PM BST that day. As explained in a Bungie news post, the Destiny Companion App won’t work normally during the downtime, as “functionality will be limited.” The full patch notes for 2.4.0 have not yet been posted. Today we confirmed Destiny update set for 6pm, below are the full details of the update direct from Bungie.net. – The one to pave the road to Rise of Iron.  Before the launch of Destiny: Rise of Iron on September 20th, there are a few issues we are fixing. Destiny players are a bit puzzled about today’s patch. Destiny will updated to version update 2.3.1 today – a patch we know very little about. Starting from 6pm BST July 26, Destiny players will find the update waiting for them when they attempt to log on. Those who haven’t grabbed it within four hours will be logged out with the WEASEL error code, and will have to patch before they can get back in. Bungie’s 2.2.0 updated will go live on the 12th of April, but you can check out some of the new content today on the Bungie twitch at 6PM GMT. The stream will be hosted by Lead Designer Ryan Paradis and Senior Designer Tim Williams as they give players a glimpse into what they can expect in the coming month. Yes It’s true Bungie has revealed but not confirmed fully that the Destiny 2.0 patch is mandatory to all players, whether they decide to buy The Taken King or not. What this does mean to you? Well that you will need to accept and install the update to be able to keep playing it. The update is 18gb on Xbox One, and 10gb Xbox 360, Of course, without them ever saying so it’s clear that The Taken King is bundled in the mandatory update.
