Paladins: Champions of the Realm is an FPS very much in the vein of Overwatch, although the developers are quick to dispute this. In their eyes more inspiration was drawn from Team Fortress 2. That may well be the case but here you have a collection of heroes to play as who all fit into several different classes. You play 5v5 matches against either other players or bots. The console closed beta for Paladins: Champions of the Realm is now available to download. There is of course one slight catch. To get access to the Beta you need to purchase ... Read More »
Ghost Recon: Wildlands was available to a select few gamer's that had the opportunity to put the game through its paces in a closed beta environment. As with any beta offering, you can expect a mix of both subtle and drastic changes to the final product based on the feedback received. That said, the closed beta should still give us enough insight to understand enough to get a fix on what we can expect when the final game is released. One of our Twitch team, Chris Nis, recently broadcast his time playing the game for the first time. We caught ... Read More »
There has been a lot of talk in the past year about Motiga's game Gigantic. Unfortunately the developer has had a tough time of it recently. Things are looking up a little now however, especially since they have managed to bring on board a new publisher Perfect World Entertainment. Apparently we will be getting a lot of news coming from the developer in the next few weeks but as of yet the news is still sparse. But it isn't really news that fans want, we are gamers and what we really want is to be able to play the game. ... Read More »
If you just squint your eyes just a little bit, you'll almost think you're looking at Overwatch... First person shooter, featuring colourful and varied "champions" who utilise their own unique abilities? There's even a guy who uses a chain to hook people! Alright, that's a little unfair. If reddit posts from Hi-Rez Studios are anything to go by, Paladins has been in some form of development since 2010 when Hi-Rez released a project called Global Agenda, the project that eventually became Paladins. Give Hi-Rez their due, they've been sitting on this idea for a long time. But with that out ... Read More »
Fans have been crying out for Fallout 4 mods to come to Xbox One – it was one of the main selling points when the game was first revealed. So far, mods have been the preserve of PC gamers. But it seems the mods’ success on PC could mean players getting a chance to play early, thanks to a closed beta. That’s according to Bethesda’s official Twitterings… https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/729737805849595904 One million mod downloads in such a short space of time is crazy impressive, and we're hoping that they're equally successful once they appear on consoles. But what we still don't have ... Read More »
Seems like April has become somewhat of a beta month. First we have Doom and Battleborn on the same weekend, and now we've got a Mirror's Edge: Catalyst beta to look out for. This closed beta will be available on April 22nd to "Frontrunners" - basically those who subscribed to the latest Mirror's Edge news. The beta will then be available to everyone else who has been selected to participate. Unfortunately, the registration period for the closed beta has ended, so the only thing you can do right now is sit and wait. Maybe go try some actual parkour? Or ... Read More »
If you were lucky enough to take part in the Closed Beta for Ubisoft's The Division a couple of weeks ago, you may want to hang on to your Closed Beta client  for a little bit longer. This week's Open Beta uses the same client - with just a small (1.8 GB) patch to be applied. This was confirmed on Twitter by Ubisoft employee and prolific streamer Miisty. https://twitter.com/UbiMiiSTY/status/697106729172148227 That patch is available now - in fact if your console is set to Instant On it will probably have been downloaded already. If not, fire up The Division Beta client ... Read More »
Isn't it nice to be missing out on things? Oh wait, no it's not. Right now, EA Sports are allowing players to sign up for an upcoming beta for their latest release, EA Sports UFC 2. The beta, dropping on 28 January, allows players to sample some welterweight cage fighting, the Ultimate Team mode and the online portion of the game. Sounds good, right? It is until you know that the Beta is North American exclusive. We Europeans get to sit out in the cold and wait until March 17th before we can step into the Octagon. You'd think that ... If there was ever a game I have fond memories of, it's that of the Burnout series. Specifically that of the Crash Mode where...
