Monster Hunter: World is set to be an action role playing game set in an open world environment. The game is currently in development by Capcom and is set to be released early next year. This weekend at San Diego Comic Con Capcom showed off a few more details for the game. During a stage presentation the developer showed off a gameplay video that revealed a few new details about the game. The main thrust of the video was centered around several fights against different giant monsters, not a bad start then. The gameplay showed that the textures of the ... Read More »
Last month, Capcom announced that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 would be launching on Xbox One. The game is a compendium of Mega Man games, and brings together for the first time Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9, and Mega Man 10. Today, they've released four short recap videos - one for each game - to remind us of which ones we can look forward to replaying in the not-too-distant future. Mega Man 7 released in 1995 on the Super Nintendo, and looks the classic 16-bit part. This game requires you to defeat 4 opening stages to ... Read More »
Many have thought that the backwards compatibility program has been slowing down somewhat over the past couple of weeks, myself included. There are only a finite number of games to utilise, after all. But then something like this happens and my faith has been restored all over again. Major Nelson has just tweeted the following: Super Streetfighter IV Arcade Edition is coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today https://t.co/qPMRNrLoTQpic.twitter.com/WfShOJpLGm — 💬 Larry Hryb (@majornelson) July 13, 2017 You may remember a couple of months back that the vanilla version of Street Fighter IV joined the library, which seemed pointless given ... Last December presented somewhat of a terrible experience for yours truly. I had to suffer the indignity of observing one of my favourite franchises commit figurative “bed-soiling”, resulting in a damaged legacy for the foreseeable future. I am referring, of course, to Dead Rising 4. For a game supposedly heading back to its roots, Dead Rising 4 was practically unrecognisable when compared to every other game in the series. Whilst that was good in some cases (DR 4 offered the best gameplay engine and combat of the whole series), something was missing. There was no charm, no soul; mowing down ... Read More »
The first collection released almost two years ago, and fans felt somewhat underwhelmed by the collection, considering it only included just the Megaman games from the NES era, leading some fans to believe more collections were on their way. Today, Capcom has finally announced that Megaman Legacy Collection 2 will be heading to Xbox One on 8th August, which will include four more Megaman games that span consoles from the SNES to Saturn; Megaman 7 through to 10. While the amount of Megaman games is less than its predecessor, the quality of the later titles are superior. The collection will ... Read More »
The announcement of a mini golf DLC for Dead Rising 4 was met with equal parts confusion and amazement, but could now be set to be the most fun part of the whole game. Not a lofty task, but still. We won't have to wait long to find out the actual quality of this DLC, as Capcom have announced that Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf will be launching on June 20th. Of course, this will be a round of golf like no other, with the golfers in exo-suits, zombies littering the fairways and golf balls that do not ... Read More »
Fighting games and the community that embraces it competitively is eagerly waiting for it's next big entry in Marvel Vs. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, platformers were the bread and butter of gaming. Disney especially, had a great showing through the 8-Bit era. However, dependent on what console you had during the infamous Sega Vs Nintendo console war, would determine what Disney games you could get your hands on. And if you had both consoles, you were a spoilt child. There were no multi-platform releases for licensed Disney software. A practice that lasted into the 16-bit era. This led to differing games for the separate consoles. The Sega Master System had some outstanding Disney titles such as Castle ... Read More »
