Anyone looking for a slightly more realistic depiction of the Great War than Battlefield 1 will get their wish granted on March 8th, as Verdun will be released on the Xbox One. Brought to us by M2H Games and BlackMill Games, Verdun offers players a true-to-life experience of war in the trenches for you and your squad of cohorts. The developers have launched a Nouncy campaign to help spread the news ... Read More »
A new trailer has dropped for Ubisoft's upcoming melee brawler For Honor, detailing the much anticipated campaign mode and the mysterious Warlord Apollyon. The trailer, which you can check out for yourself below, sees the aforementioned Warlord run down the three factions in the game; the Knights, the Vikings and the Samurai, and basically call them weak for not seeking constant war. How dare they want peace, they're in a video game! The rest of the trailer shows how successful Apollyon has been at playing all 3 factions against each other. Clearly, the finale will be all the factions uniting ... Read More »
We love Titanfall - I mean, guns, explosions, giant robots, guns that aim themselves... what's not to like? And you'll see from our hands on at EGX, we are loving Titanfall 2 just as much. Of course, what Titanfall lacked was a coherent single player campaign - a few multi player stages shoved together with a chat track just didn't cut it. This is a wrong developer Respawn plans to right with Titanfall 2, which features a full stand alone campaign mode. Not much has been said about the campaign, but in the last few minutes Respawn have unleashed a cinematic trailer ... Read More »
With the release of Battlefield 1 on October 21st, we will see not only a massive change in setting and structure from previous Battlefield titles but a refreshing change of pace for shooters in general. But what has made DICE make such a drastic change and what can we learn about the new game from the campaign trailer that dropped yesterday. https://youtu.be/C-vAxVh8ins We learned from DICE announcements that the single player campaign will not follow the standard formula of a single protagonist. But will instead follow the stories of different protagonists throughout different battles and scenarios of World War 1. ... Read More »
This morning we brought you news that the new Gears of War 4 campaign gameplay trailer was to be released at 1:00 pm UK time today. We were, it's safe to say, pretty excited. It's also safe to say we were not disappointed. The trailer - which features nearly seven minutes of gameplay footage - is a feast for the eyes. But don't take our word for it - check it out for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQIIS4L-7eg After a little exposition as the Gears head towards an old hydro electric damn (check out stunning lighting effects, and the way the wind moves the ... Video games have changed a lot over the years. Gone now are the days when gamers sat alone in front of their TVs challenging themselves against a game and a game alone. Even when we did used to play games with friends, we'd have to squeeze up together on the sofa and share a controller. Nowadays, we can play games with our friends no matter where in the world they may be. Xbox Live has changed our entire existence, connecting us with other gamers from across the globe. This has completely destroyed the myth that gamers are anti-social loners, although ... Read More »
Many who have played Titanfall describe it as a great game with no real single player campaign.  Well Respawn has made it a big priority to give the people what they want in the form of a full story campaign. The biggest question Respawn had when coming up with Titanfall 2's campaign was "is this even possible?"  How do you take such a massive battlefield full of titans and pilots that have a ton of mobility without making everything feel like it's on rails or tethered? When design first started, the development team put together mini-levels that they called proto-levels.  These ... Read More »
The saga of Crackdown 3 is a strange one, with its omission from E3 2016 and subsequent delay into 2017 coming from seemingly nowhere. At least now we have some clarification. Speaking to Game Informer, general manager of Microsoft Studios Shannon Loftis went into detail regarding the delay, stating that they were hard at work on the Campaign mode after focusing on the multiplayer Sandbox: "It’s actually the campaign that we’re doubling down on now. We’ve got internal play sessions every week for Crackdown Online. We’re starting now to get the campaign in. Building these open world games is both ... Read More »
Anyone else play the Doom MP Beta intensely? Seems like the hype train has a few more stops to make, as Bethesda have announced some exclusive live streams to show off the single player campaign and the new map editor mode SnapMap. On Monday April 25th, Tom Mustaine of the SnapMap team will be helming a live stream dedicated to the "wide range of co-op, single-player and multiplayer content you’ll find in SnapMap." Early footage seems to suggest that SnapMap might be similar to the old Timesplitters Map Editor, except turned up to 11. Developers will also be answering questions ... Read More »
