GTA V is very rarely out of the top ten in the charts – but for the tenth time since its release, it’s hit the number one spot. According to GfK Chart Track, in the All Formats chart, Rockstar’s anarchic open-world actioner beat out, well, pretty much everything from Battlefield 1 to FIFA 17. It even managed to unseat reigning supremo Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Make of that what you will. Everything else in the charts was unsurprising, except, perhaps, Gears of War 4 holding its own against its multi-platform rivals. What’s more concerning is the total lack of ... Read More »
Futuristic FPS Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has topped the UK charts to become the number one game sold before Christmas. Whatever you think about the game, it goes to show that the Call of Duty brand is still a strong and powerful player in the games market – and it’s a no-brainer that it was going to be number one for the holiday season, when you combine that power with cheap deals. Good news, too, for that perennial of the charts, GTAV, which crept past the 6 million mark for UK sales. As usual, it still features in both ... Read More »
Call of Duty’s ‘Tis the Season’ holiday event continues on Thursday with a 5-day Infinite Warfare trial. Heard all the opinions? Want to see what all the future-fuss is all about? Now’s your chance. Despite strong sales – and maintaining a position in the charts, usually at the top – analysts say that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare hasn’t been as successful as the game’s previous instalment, Black Ops III. The fans warned them, but they went ahead and set their crazy FPS in the future anyway. But just to sweeten the deal, Activision threw in a remastered version of the granddaddy FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Many claim that this is the real reason why Infinite Warfare has been so popular. But not popular enough to stop a drastic 50% fall in ... Read More »
Xbox exclusive Dead Rising 4 has beaten Sony rival The Last Guardian in both the all formats and individual formats charts. It’s difficult to imagine two games so dissimilar. The Christmas-themed zombie beat ‘em up has been receiving some solid reviews. Meanwhile, gamers have found themselves falling in love with The Last Guardian – before swiftly falling out of love with the occasionally frustrating mechanics of a game originally destined for the PlayStation 3. Elsewhere in the charts, Fifa 17 continues to find a near-permanent home near the top of the charts, and Battlefield 1 gets clearly got a sales ... Read More »
After three weeks clinging to the top spot, the latest instalment of Call of Duty is no longer number one in the UK’s all formats chart. Publisher Activision won’t be happy with the news that their much-maligned Call of Duty isn’t hitting the record highs of previous instalments. Infinity Ward’s latest shooter dropped down to number two, despite generous Black Friday deals – while EA’s Fifa 17 nabbed the gold this week. Not a bad week for EA overall, as it goes, with their military shooter Battlefield 1 still showing strong sales almost a month after release. Their other FPS, ... Read More »
Infinite Warfare has had a rocky life from the beginning, it had the most dislikes on a YouTube video we have ever seen. Neither the less that didn't stop Activision from launching and all out assault to make sure Infinity Wards title smashed sales numbers. This included bundling Modern Warfare Remastered in with the special edition. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Sales Info has been released, the numbers aren't good. Infinite Warfare sold only 1.8 million copies in the first week! Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sold 830,989 copies on the PS4, 781,551 on Xbox One and 200,783 ± 11,603 on ... Read More »
The latest all format charts have today been released, which has seen a very respectable entry for Watch Dogs 2, at number two. But so far, Dedsec have failed to infiltrate the number one position. Holding top spot, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare continues to dominate in sales. Mostly no doubt down to the legacy edition which features a remaster of Modern Warfare. A large number of pre Black Friday discounts could also have helped the next installment in the franchise retain top position. A respectable entry for Assassins Creed: The Ezio Collection, which only released on Friday, enters at ... Read More »
