Welcome to a new feature for Xbox One UK, where we take a look at the list of titles that became backwards compatible in the last month and point out a couple of highlights. The month of May had a number of notable additions to the line up, with one causing more headlines than most. Trust me, we’ll get to that one, but let’s look at a few honourable mentions: XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Sure, it’s going free in a matter of weeks, but anyone who already has the game can try and save our planet from the invaders. The … Read More »

Earlier today Activision sent gamers an E-mail to users promoting their Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Season Pass. The E-mail was letting people that owned DLC 1, dubbed Awakening, would get the Season Pass at a discounted price. The E-Mail linked off to their website at which users could learn more about the promotion. It is here that Activision has leaked their upcoming zombie map. Ignoring the fact that the theme’s are exclusive to that other console we can see that under Zombies Theme we are granted a look at an area that we have never yet seen on … Read More »

Reports have surfaced on Reddit regarding a set of new games that could be making their way to Xbox One’s backward compatibility. Reddit user Daymarr posted the incriminating evidence claiming that they had received an E-Mail from Microsoft. The E-mail listed a fleet of six games that would soon make their way over to the backward compatibility. These games were Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinite as well as Skate 3, Halo Wars and the much requested Call of Duty: Black Ops. Usually in this situation we could pass this off as a simple rumour, perhaps a solo redditor trying to grab … Read More »

Just before they launched backwards compatibility, the hardworking people at Xbox also launched a little thing called the Xbox One Feedback Site. This is the place where you can vote for which titles you would like to see come to the backwards compatibility program. Since the site’s inception it has been the COD franchise that has dominated the polls. One game in particular has been high in the charts since almost day one. That game is, of course, the original Black Ops game. Well good news people (maybe)! According to reports Call of Duty: Black Ops could be coming to … Read More »

It’s been nearly a month since the release of Treyarchs latest entry in the Call Of Duty franchise, Black Ops 3. All in all it has been well received but there has been a few small complaints. One of the biggest of these gripes is how weak some of the higher scorestreaks seem. It is possible, and in some cases fairly easy to destroy these scorestreaks before they even have a chance to make their mark on the battlefield. Well the sainted David Vonderhaar has taken to Twitter to address a question on just this matter. He came out and … Read More »

BlackOps Friday finished yesterday, with the final instalment showing off the new Nuketown. The map has been revamped in Black Ops 3 with a more futuristic take than the previous version. “We wanted to keep the magic that makes Nuketown, Nuketown,” said Adam Hogatt, level designer for Black Ops 3. “We made some changes; the centre of the map is a lot bigger making it easier to get around. There’s also a wall run on the front of the map that has a high risk, high reward for players.” The developers also had some more maps to show to fans. The first new map showed off was called Breach. … Read More »

If one feature could resurrect, see what i did there? Honestly sometimes I’m really punny! Nevermind i digress, if anything could help a game survive longer, i did it again, it would be Zombies. Not that Black Ops 3 has any signs of needed resurrecting or helping along the road to awesomeness. Well Zombie mode is so big that nowadays it gets its own freaking panel at San Diego Comic Con or SDCC for short! Well from Activision’s tweets it was clear to see a packed house for the world exclusive reveal and boy oh boy did it deliver, i could … Read More »
