BlackOps Friday finished yesterday, with the final instalment showing off the new Nuketown. The map has been revamped in Black Ops 3 with a more futuristic take than the previous version. “We wanted to keep the magic that makes Nuketown, Nuketown,” said Adam Hogatt, level designer for Black Ops 3. “We made some changes; the centre of the map is a lot bigger making it easier to get around. The single player portion of Treyarch’s next Call of Duty game has proven too much for the last generation of consoles. Treyarch wasn’t building the last-generation versions of Black Ops 3, though it was overseeing them. Beenox and Mercenary Technology had been assigned the unenviable task of making the game work on old technology. Just months before the game is due to arrive, however, they’ve pulled the plug on those versions getting the campaign mode. “The ambitious scope of the 1-4 … Read More »

David Vondaerhaar of Treyarch has stated recently that the stats accumulated on previous gen consoles (PS3/XB360) unfortunately will not be transferred over to current gen consoles (XB1/PS4)   Fans of previous titles Ghosts and Advanced warfare, Activision had given the opportunity for players to have their multi-player stats available for use within the same “console family” (PS3 to PS4 and XB360 to XB1). As it stands it looks as though Black Ops 3 will not support this feature meaning that those who planned on buying last-gen on release and potentially moving to current gen shortly afterwards (for example getting a … Read More »
