Next year we will see a reboot of the classic franchise Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger with the release of a new film. Therefore it seems only apt that we should see a new video game to accompany this new reboot. A video game that was just announced at this year’s New York Comic-Con. For gamers like myself who grew up in the 90’s this fun new title is playing majorly on my nostalgia in more ways than one. The game has a classic side scrolling beat em up style with a power rangers skin. This game takes heavy inspiration from the … Read More »

This one may go one of two ways for 2K Games and if I were a betting man I’d go for the latter. Some fans will love that Goldberg is in the game as he is a much-loved wrestler so they will buy the game anyway. Now for the latter as seen with Mortal Kombat before this and Goro as a pre-order bonus only people did not like it! The previous picks for pre-order bonuses weren’t real wrestlers on the current gen so if you didn’t get them it didn’t matter too much because how many times are you realistically … Read More »

There was a whole bunch of news coming out of the VGA’s last week, including a new Telltale series based on Batman, some new Tomb Raider DLC, and Rocket League finally coming to the Xbox One. But let’s not forget that the most legendary sequel of all time got a new trailer… Of course, I’m referring to Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, the follow-up to one of the worst fighting games ever released, which was successfully crowd-funded a few months ago. Learning the lesson from last time, the game is now a side-scrolling beat-em-up, with the Shaq Attack taking on … Read More »

So you like your music metal and your apocalypses of the zombie variety? Rock Zombie might just be the game for you. This is a game with a lot to hate about it but also a lot to love. The strangely synthetic guitar sounds, the unmoving, emotionless faces and glitches galore are all things that could take away from the experience that is Rock Zombie. But these things also add a peculiar charm to the game. This is a beat’em up in the early nineties side scrolling tradition and brought about not a small amount of nostalgia for games like … Read More »

When I first heard about the collaboration between the legendary Transformers franchise and beat ‘em up extraordinaires Platinum Games, tickets were immediately booked for the hype train. I did have a fondness for High Moon’s War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, but they never grabbed my attention as much as the sight of Bumblebee pulling off shoryukens on Decepticon scumbags. Remember, childhood dreams sometimes do come true. The premise is simple: Megatron has found something beneath the city, and is now destroying said city to get it. You, the Autobots of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack and Grimlock, must … Read More »
