The list of Xbox 360 games playable on your Xbox One is growing all the time - we're at 322 right now - thanks to new games joining the Backwards Compatibility programme. That's 217 Arcade Games and 105 Games on Demand titles, stats fans! Fun fact: With 99 games on the list, Microsoft Studios has more backwards compatible titles than any other publisher! Some of the most popular Xbox 360 games have already been added - Call of Duty: Black Ops and Red Dead Redemption among them. There are some truly classic arcade titles in the list, too - including Geometry Wars: Retro ... Read More »
We have to admit, we were pretty disappointed with FIFA Street. Not because it's a bad game - it isn't. It's a very good game. But from the title we were expecting to be playing with a squashed Coke can for a ball and piles of jumpers for goalposts. That's how we remember football in the street, anyway. EA Sports FIFA Street would be a strong favourite for joining the backwards compatibility list, we think. It's part of the annual update crew, so it's unlikely to steal focus (or sales) from FIFA 18, and EA are supporters of the initiative, with 17 games ... Read More »
Until now, Lost Odyssey (added to backwards compatibility on 29 September 2016) and Blue Dragon (added on 1 November 2016) have only been playable on Xbox One if you owned the disc version. Well, no more. Whatever pesky bugs had been preventing digital owners getting in on some back compat action have been squashed, and if you already own these titles digitally they'll be waiting for you in your 'Ready to Install' list. The news just keeps getting better as Lost Odyssey, a stunning JRPG from Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, is FREE until 31 December. Grab ... Read More »
The Backwards Compatibility programme is a technical marvel - we're huge fans and grateful that so much effort is poured into this area by Microsoft. It's pure fan service, too. Some, though, aren't quite up to scratch. But with the latest console update this week, some of those games have received a boost. It's time to get technical. When things get hectic, with lots ... It looks like the boffins over at Xbox are true to their word and are continuing to add more titles to the Backwards Compatibility list as and when they become ready. We love that we no longer have to wait for an unspecified point each month before these games are made available! After the announcement of four games new to Back Compat last week, an absolute classic has just joined the list. Galaga is one of the all time classic coin op games - a true piece of gaming history that everyone should own. It may have been released on ... Read More »
